Hey all... I am doing fine and am within sight of goal. I don't think I will ever get there though. I am down 95# this month. I have lost about 4 pounds since October so I guess I am still loosing. I have not scheduled a PS eval yet, I am kinda waiting on summer and that magic 18th month to pass. I feel like I could loose a few more pounds if I got back to the basics... protein, water, exercise. At 139 and from a size 26 to an 8 I feel like a million bucks. I don't hurt when I get up in the mornings and my other ailments are all but gone for now. I haven't gained any weight over the holidays... this year. I am looking forward to normal... are we there yet? I have 7 pounds to go untill i can say my BMI is normal, but I feel kinda normal. Have a wonderful month sibs... Judy

Hey Jane,
Sorry I didn't get back to you! I'm glad everything went well for your surgery. Sounds like it's much more painful than the gastric. By now you should be over the worst hopefully with your drains out, etc. How long will you be out of work?
My consult went really well. I totally love the surgeon & his staff is top-notch. I have a June 3rd surgery date! I am going to get a full tummy tuck & breast lift w/implants. He submitted everything to my insurance company & I'm in the waiting mode right now, praying for approval! If it's not approved - I'm going to have to finance it. His prices are pretty high but my gut feeling is he's the surgeon for me. I do have another consult on 4/4 with a different surgeon. I feel I still need to compare anyway.
Take care - Judy

Jane,
Congratulations! I was wondering how you are doing. The compression garmet is specifically calibrated to help your lymph fluid move along in your system. The lymphatic system is interrupted when skin is removed. Without the right amount of compression... the fluid will accumulate and the swelling will be unbearable. I'm almost 8 weeks post tummy tuck with 10 lbs of skin removal and I'm still having a difficult time with swelling even with lymphatic massages and compression garments!
Good luck to you,
Jackie

"HOLY BUTT HOLES" Joe! I'm laughing what's left of my hind end off! I do this only because I can actually laugh at my own painful situation. A ring of staples!! OMG!!! I have been too terified to actually look down south since this last episode on Tuesday. The friggin tumor was aughful enough to view, now I wonder exactly how much is left of my "end zone" to view. I know I still have something down there because it still hurts like a motha!
Jane...thank you so much for posting too! You're always so supportive. I guess if I just don't have enough turmoil, I need to find ways to get it goin' on. I have a court date on 4/12. It's with the magistrate, not the judge. Kinda weird. The upside is he's the "Moms Magistrate" so hopefully things will be good for me. I'm not holding my breath because I have always been pulled through the ringer with Son of Satan.
Thanks for the input guys and gals and thanks for letting me share.

Hey Girl! You sure like to keep it exciting over there! I sure hope you feel better soon. Is everything ok? Do you have to have anymore surgery? You take care of yourself. Love, Your Buddy Jane

Been there. Done that.
Shortly after RNY surgery I developed an anal fissure along with hemmorhoids (just ordinary not thrombosis type thank goodness). The fissure is a tear, hurts horribly, and for me and most people won't heal. Surgery means reducing the effciency of the sphinter muscle by cutting it slightly. This allows the fissure to heal. It has side effects though. I'll let you google search anal fissure for all the fun news. I went through all the other options prior to surgery but nothing worked. The pain was, well... memorable, before the surgery allowed the fissure to heal.
After that healed, I had a hemmorhoid surgery. He didn't cut or simply puncture my hemmorhoids, but instead "installed" in place a stainless steel ring of staples. Think that over for a while. I wonder if I can go through an airport metal detector now. Ha!
No problems since and I just have to live with the difficulty of retaining "gas" Thank goodness I'm a man and people aren't surprised by a "gassy" man!
Topic: Too many Tumors!!!
This is kinda personal, but I thought I'd share.
things have been happening "down south" for me the past 10 months. I have had some Thrombosis Hemmerhoids. I drink so much water, I don't have constipation (at least not often). Well 10 days ago I had one form and wake me up during the middle of the night. It was about 1 1/2" long and probably 1" wide. I promptly went to the doc to get it carved out of my a$$ again. Yes boys and girls, I said again. Actually it was the third time for me. Well when the doc got down there she was horrified. She told me I had to go and see the specialist. So, 6 days after my last carving, I went in for another one. This time the specialist had lots to say (okay I mean for the first time) she told me that a: she'd have to carve it down to the muscle to get rid of it b: that if it would have been ANY bigger she'd of made me have the surgery which involves being off for 3-6 weeks. c: she was stunned that I had actually been working during this time of pain and agony. d: Not only did I have one, but another bad boy was forming and she carved that one out too!
She cut so much away that I am bleeding like nobody's business, but she was amazingly gentle. I'd recommend her to anyone. But I feel sick from the pain meds. I mean barfy and sweaty. I'm taking percocet which is what my GBP surgeon told me was okay. I'm laying down and feel aughful. This is the longest I've sat. Has this happened to anyone else?
I mean really all of these hemmerhoids and now feeling like crap from meds I've taken in the past.
Comments? Suggestions?

Hi Judy!
How did your consult go? I'm sorry I haven't been here in a while, but I just had my tummy tuck and extra skin from my arms removed. Prepare yourself that this surgery is not comparible with any other surgery. The recovery is longer because it deals with the skin. I just had my last drainage tube removed, yesterday. I had three tubes after the surgery. One under each arm and 3 down below the panty line. I will have to wear the binder for a while, but I'm getting around much better, now. I can't wait to get back to my workouts! My doctor said that it will be a while before I can workout. I can walk and ride a stationary bike, if I want, though. If you have any questions, just ask me. Your weightloss buddy, Jane
