Topic: RE: 6 months out how much have you lost????
Hi Kathy,
I was 6 months on the 16th and I have only loss 75 pounds. I am a little disgusted and feel like I will never hit 100 pounds, but hey I have to be thankful for what I have loss. It makes it real hard especially since my husband is 9 weeks post op and has loss a total of 80 pounds. I know men loose faster, but it makes it very hard, I mean very hard.

Judy, I know what you mean about the grazing. I have a hard time with that too. Some days are worse. I found out that if I write down what I eat I do it less. I also make a meal out of snack stuff. Like, for lunch today I had sliced apple with peanut butter, about 5 chips, a piece of cheese, and two bites of peanut butter/jelly sandwich. I felt like I had gotten to eat snack food, but it was not so bad for me since it replaced a meal. Karen

Hi Kathy, You are doing awesome, keep up the great job and enjoy ever minute of it. I hit my 6 month mark on the 2nd of this month my weigh in at that time was 198. A total loss of 119 lbs. I am so amazed and so so so thankful for all the blessings weight loss surgery has allowed me to experience. Many blessings to you and all the October siblings on your continued journey.

Hi Kathy, 92 lbs is awesome! Almost the century mark. I have lost 73 lbs so far - but this is only the beginning. Our window of opportunity is just cracked - we still have a whole year to go to get down to our goal. I plan on doing everything I can to help with the weight loss (eat small portions, drink water, protein & vitamins & ooooh yeeeaaa exercise) & just hold on for the ride! Life is good. Judy
Topic: RE: What's Next?
I want to have a normal BMI and get moving with an exercise program on a regular baisis. I want to weigh 124 (I am 5'1) and fit into a size 6-8 comfortably. I "crammed" this body into a 10 capri pant over the weekend and got it zipped up. VERY tight, but did it... LOL. I think the 8 will be do-a-ble if i get moving soon and QUIT grazing.

Great question... The biggest regret in my mind tonight is that I am still out of control and grazing all of the time. I just can't seem to get it all together... YET. Tomorrow is another day and another chance to be in control. The biggest joy is knowing that I am not limited by my size... now it is just a mental limit and I can deal with these challenges as they come. I feel fabulous and am no longer listing 8 co-morbities as fault for WLS... That is the best thing. My whole attitude toward life and living it has changed. I am down 76.5 pounds and have 23.5 pounds to goal (goal = BMI of 24.9...NORMAL). I think when I get there in a few months (I hope) I will be feeling like I have conquered the battle.
Peaches to all...

Yay Kathy!!! Don't be upset because you might not hit the 100lb loss mark at 6 months. Just remember, you KNOW that you will hit that mark, soon. We didn't always know that on any diets that we may have tried. You have the right philosophy by thinking about how far you have come instead of how far you have to go. I've lost 122lbs. since October 1st. My starting weight was 362lbs. So we both have come along way. I'm going to use your philosophy when I hit a plateau. It will help me to remember what I have accomplished. Thanks, Jane

I will be 6 months out on the 29th I have lost 92 lbs so far was feeling a little upset because I don't think I am going to hit 100 lbs by then but last night I tried on my pants I wore to the hospital and they about fell to the ground and it made me think of where I have been, not how far I have to go.

Topic: RE: How Much Do You Eat?
Well looks like I am eating a fair amount compared to all of you.
Breakfast- Protein shake
Lunch- Beef Noodle Soup ( 1 cup)
Snack- Hand full of pretzels ( not a norm for me but today I have been hungry)
Dinner 4 oz ham
After Dinner Snack--- Protein drink
I just put everything into FitDay and I am at 92 grams protein and 800 calories. So has anyone's hair loss slowed down. They said at six months it should slow, but I have not seen it yet!
