Great idea Jane! I vow to exercise 5x's over the next week and get my water in daily! I will not get on the scale everyday and stress that it hasn't dropped again, I will stay positive and upbeat, concentrate on all the gifts God HAS given me, this surgery, my husband and the great support I get at this website! Have a great week. Keep smilin'. LeeAnn 300/204

Hello my WL Brothers and Sisters! I loved Adrienne's idea of making a vow to do something. I think we should do this every week. I exercised more because of my vow. So, I vow to stay positive this week, no matter what may be thrown my way! I also will continue to exercise more. What's your VOW? Your WL Sister, Jane 362/237

Adrienne, It was a glass sculpture artwork item that was hanging from the ceiling on the cruise ship. It was very beautiful, but odd And thanks for the compliments! Amy 349/239/190???

Topic: RE: 6 months out how much have you lost????
I hit my six month anniversary on 4/23/04 - last Friday. I have lost 65 pounds, going from 269 to 204. I have been gaining and losing the same 2 pounds for the last three weeks (going from 202 to 204). It is very frutstrating but I try not to concentrate on the scales. Everyone is starting to notice the weight loss and make complimentary comments. I am wearing size 16 pants loosely, can get into 14's, and can actually zip up my old size 12 Eddie Bauer jean skirt (the one that buttons at the waist - no elastic). I am wearing large or XL tops - down from 2x and 3x. I am very chesty, so even when I was 175 pounds in 1998, I still had to wear large tops. I compare all this to August of last year when I went on a cruise and bought 22-24 shorts and 3x tops. As I stated before, I am trying not to get bummed about my current plateau. I want to be below 200 before my birthday on May 12, so I am shooting for that. My last plateau was around New Years where I stayed at 233 for weeks. I am grateful for where I am, especially since I have not been the "poster child" for WLS. I very rarely exercise, drink my protein sporadically, and allow myself treats sometimes (treats for me are salty snacks, not sweets). I am tired all the time and my doctor put me on potassium and is checking my thyroid function. Other than that, I am happy, healthy and have not gone one day regretting this surgery. So to all my October buddies I say - JOB WELL DONE WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THIS JOURNEY. Remember, we have another year before we can consider the first part of our journey completed. Let's stay focused and positive. I love you all.

Good job Tanya!!! Isn't that a good problem having clothes that are too big. I know what you mean though. I found a lot on sale at Sears. I skipped sizes though. I went from my 22/24 to a 16/18. Now I am looking at and buying 12s. I will skip 14 unless I see something really cheap. Karen

Topic: RE: How Much Do You Eat?
HI! I just asked this same question at my support group the other day. Here is what I found out from all the post op that were more than I in time frame from surgery. To me it seems that I eat a lot and it was really bothering me...They told me that THIS IS NORMAL!!! WE ARE NORMAL!!!! They have all felt that way too. I have been paranoid that I have somehow managed to screw this thing up because I don't dump, I can chug the water, drink a ton of coffee, tea, alcoholic beverages etc. I can eat what seems like a lot to me (but in comparison to what I used to eat this is nothing.... also compare what you eat now to someone who is of normal frame.... bet you will find we eat like a two year old). Some days are more than others. I am still keeping with my motto, "IF I DO WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO ... MY BODY WILL DO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO" I am not eating bread, sugar sweets and deep fat fried stuff, carbonated beverages or hamburger that has not come from a fresh farm. I order the reg. burrito from Taco Bell and suck out half of the contents. and throw away the flour flapper. I save the rest of the burrito for later. Oh, I also get a monthly vitamin B shot and take two Kirkland )cost****ids chewable vitamins (they have an adult dose on the back) and 5 chewable zinc everyday. God Bless to everyone!!! and keep posting. angie 10/30/03 -93 lbs size 28 to 16
