Topic: Plateau's
Okay, I've been reading and reading...Plateaus. It is my understanding if you don't lose or gain anything for more than 4-5 weeks, it's not a plateau. (which I find somewhat insulting - but oh well!) My question to you all is this - HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE BEEN ON A TRUE PLATEAU since this journey. I can honestly say, I have not. I've had a few weeks where nothin' zip zero nada. Not up, not down just the same. So in the big picture - where are ya at?

Hi Rachel... yes, i've been at a standstill for 6 weeks now. It's driving me crazy. So, you're not alone, girl. I've only lost 81 lbs and I want so bad to lose 100 by one year post-op. I've got 28 lbs to go... and 2 months to do it in. I don't know if I can, but I hope so. Good luck to you, girl... I wish you luck! Only 3 lbs to go... you can do it! Pam

Hi Deb... congratulations, you're doing fantastic! I am an even slower loser than you... I've only lost 81 since my surgery 10-13-03. I can't figure out why I am at a standstill for the past 6 weeks but hopefully soon it will break. If you're training for a 10K race, that is excellent! I'm sure that has helped in the weight loss department. Maybe I need to take up running.. lol. Good luck in the race! Pam

Hi Deb, Wow..... you sound like my twin! Isn't it wonderful - I started out at 251 now down to 155 (-96). I too feel like I've lost slow but I've been consistently losing (no plateaus) and I've never felt better in my life! Congratulations on your progress and good luck with your 10K! Judy

Rachel, Boy, can I relate!! The scale has stalled the past 10 days! I'm 12 lbs. from goal and was losing consistantly until the past 10 days or so, when suddenly the scale has simply stopped. Actually there has been a couple days when I had gain a little (I don't freak out about that as I know your water weight goes up and down if you weigh daily). I'm so anxious to reach goal, but I can see right now that is going to be no easy task!!! I guess we're just going to have to be loyal to our programs and trust it is continuing to work, even if we aren't seeing the scale tell us so!! My scale also measures body fat percentage, so I've decided to start exercising more and make losing percentage points my way of measuring progress for a while!! We'll see how that goes! Good luc****ep up the good work! Kathy 294/167/155
