Topic: RE: August Roll Call
Hi guys!
Still maintaining at my goal between 120 and 122, down one whole dress size however, I guess things (skin, muscles...) are starting to tighten-up. I bought one of those scales that measure fat percent and that went down a good 2 percent. Though this was a tough ride I have no regrets... now
...
Good luck to all.

I have not posted here before, but read the roll call every month to see if I am in the ball park! I had my surgery 10/27/03, and have lost 97 lbs so far. Down from 251 to 154. I continue to lose about 6 lbs. per month. I was at a BMI of 48 and am now at a 30. I am very short. It is not as much as all the others but I am happy with it. I am almost at the century club!

Hi everyone!
I haven't posted for a while. I lost 8 lbs. last month. I'm down 113 lbs. I started with a BMI of 45.2,(morbidly obese) I'm now at 29.1, (overwieght) not obese! Keep trying, we'll get there.

Topic: RE: Are you cold?
Joe, that is too funny. I also do the same thing in the car. My office is soooo cold to me all day I constantly have to go outside to warm up! I practically have a sweat suit on when I go to bed. My only hope is that will survive the winter. Take care. Judy
Topic: Are you cold?
Do you get cold easily? I just wonder how many of you still get chilled easily.
My surgeon told me several months ago that most of his patients have a
lowered body thermostat after surgery but that it quickly goes back to
normal. Mine hasn't yet.
Two things brought this to mind this week. I was driving down the
interstate with the windows down and enjoying the warmth after the
chill of the workplace A/C all day. I glanced up at the outside
temperature gage and it was 94 degrees. On another night as I
prepared for bed in my long sleeve cotton T-shirt and cotton lounging
pants my hands were
extremely cold. (We keep the A/C set at 76) Cold hands were extremely
common last winter. So I pulled on my handy Isotoner gloves and
climbed into bed. My wife laughed very hard about my gloves.
Topic: RE: August Goals?
My #1 goal for August is to turn 45 on the 15th and be a "normal" weight at that time. I am 9 pounds from that weight. I just got back from a 2 week vacation and lost 2 pounds. I'm so glad I didn't gain there.

Hello All,
Surgery 10-29-03, pre surgery 398 today 229. I'm still loosing and feel great. I was wearing a 56 inch waist jean, now I wear a 36 inch waist. I'm in a med-Large shirt, I was in a 5xlt, so I'm out of cloths and buying only what I need. My hunger is still under control but I have to keep busy or I slip into boardom and then I want to eat, although i can't eat much but I can eat often...Not good!!!. I didn't loose weight for two weeks in July but did still loose 8 pounds. June was 4 pounds a week. Good Luck and keep working hard to get to a weight you are happy with and then stick to it.
Topic: RE: Plateau's
IMHO I haven't hit a true plateau either. My cycle has gone like this from month two..... Lose 5-15# for one week then nothing for 3 weeks.... rinse and repeat. Completely weird but I don't stress. I do notice changing 2 sizes at a time. I *Just* went through my closet 2 weeks ago and took out everything that didn't fit, leaving me with 14's & 12's. Now last Monday the 14's were HUGE and I wear a 10 perfectly. WTF??? Some of the 12's fit but most are too loose.... In 1 week???? I haven't lost any weight since trying on the clothes 2 weeks ago!!!
Funny!!!

Topic: RE: Plateau's
Based on the definition of a plateau, I have not had one. I have had a couple months where I lost very little weight but would usually make up for it the next. I usually lose weight the 2 weeks after my period then stay the same or go up a lb or 2, I have always had water retention problems. Doctor switched some of my meds and I haven't lost this month, maybe water retention. Oh well, I had hoped to be at my highest goal of 172 by my 1 year anniversary but don't know if I'll make it. Still have about 20 lbs to go.
Topic: RE: Plateau's
Thankfully I can say I haven't hit a true plateau...and hopefully am not on one right now!! My scale also has been stalled the past couple weeks, and attempts at increasing exercise or water intake have not helped, either. It's frustrating, but I also know I should be thankful for how steadily my loss has been to this point. This too, shall pass!
