On a plateau, can't drop the last 20lbs...

Hi there everyone. I started the WL journey in May of 03. I am 5'2" and started at 217 lbs. I am 1 year and 2 months post op. I currently weigh 152 lbs. I have 20 lbs to get to my goal and have been stuck for about 4 months. I was told to cut my carbs. I can basically eat anything in small amounts. I need a hernia operation and am trying to decide if I should have the tummy tuck at the same time, or wait until the last 20 lbs is gone. Any suggestions? P.S. I just love reading all the stories on this website. You are all courageous for the decisions you have made. May God continue to bless you all. Dyanna S

Dyanna, Congratulations on your success! I had 6 plastic surgery consults before I decided on a doc. Only 1 of those doctors suggested that I lose the remaining weight before surgery. I also have hernias to be repaired with the tummy tuck. The one doc that suggested waiting said that my skin has shrunk all it's going to and that any weight loss from this point on will result in saggy skin. So, if I have the TT and then lose... the rest of the weight loss will cause loose skin and I wouldn't have "optimal" results from my TT. But, he was the only one that had that opinion. Most of my PS consults were free. You might want to just get a few opinions. Good Luck, Jackie -219 and counting

Hi Dyanna Wow! You've done awesome! 20lbs. is nothing. Your Tummy Tuck is going to take at least 10lbs. of that off. Maybe your body is right where it should be. If you feel great and look great, quit looking at the scale! Go have your tummy tuck and be happy!!! Happy Holidays! Your Weightloss Buddy, Jane
