Well, it's been a year and I am so happy that I had the courage to do this one year ago. I think we should all be proud of ourselves! I am down 133 pounds and weigh 129. Next Tuesday, the 19th, I will have a circumferential abdominoplasty and breast lift w/augmentation. I am curious about how others are approaching plastic surgery a year after gastric bypass (and if you've already been there - was it worth it?) I am paying out-of-pocket for everything! I feel a little guilty at 54, but it seems I've come this far, might as well go for broke.

Patty, I had TT done on 10-12 it was not as bad as everyone told me it would be, I asked for a epidural and woke up with 000 pain however I was sensitive to the anestis(sp) she was going to look into how it effects people that have had gastric bypass . I am going to have breast done in spring I had a reduction 10 yeas ago and now I want small implants to help because since weight loss I fel I need then "fixed". Kathy

Congratulations to all of us who have reached out one-year anniversaries. I have lost 127 pounds and have reached my goal which is 167 pounds. I don't think I'm going to have a tummy tuck or anything done - just don't know yet if I want another big scar. The tummy sags a tiny bit but at 47 years old, it doesn't matter. My husband loves me and I feel good so the plastic surgeries are something I might think about in the future. As far as breast surgery - no - I am just so happy to be a C+ cup instead of a FF that it is just wonderful. I wear a size 10-12 now and one year ago I wouldn't have even dreamed that would ever be possible. How is everyone's energy levels? I've noticed such a difference! I actually went roller skating and bowling last evening with my nephew and my sister! I had so much fun - couldn't have done that before WLS! This was the best decision I have ever made and yes, I would do it all over again. Best wishes to all and let us know how the plastic surgeries go. (who knows, I may have that tummy tuck later anyway! LOL)

Wow Patty, Don't feel guilty - you are worth every penny of it! Besides 54 is not old! I'll be praying for you. I know everything will go well at surgery. Then watch out you'll be one hot mama... ha ha. Take care - Judy

Congrats on your success! You've done a great job. As for PS, I'm still losing (though slowly) and want to give my skin a chance to snap back as much as possible, so I'm waiting at least another 6 months before I start looking into it. For me a year out seems too early to start looking into this yet. Best of luck on the 19th! Amy

Hi Patty Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary! I'm looking forward to my Tummy Tuck and having my arm wings, clipped! I still have about 40 more pounds to lose, before I want to have that done. I do know several people who have had it done, though. They are very happy with the results. The big scar that we have on our bellies will be a lot smaller because the doctor will sew up the incision, instead of staple. That's great news to me. Good luck and I will be thinking about you! Let us know how everything goes. Your WL Sister, Jane
