Hi Angela, This is a great post! I am almost 11 months post-op. I exercise every weekday morning and eat 5-6 small meals a day. I don't count calories or fat, but I do count my protein intake and eat a well-balanced, healthy diet 85-90% of the time. I haven't run into anything that I am unable to consume except soda. I don't eat a lot of pasta, rice, or bread, but I love fruits and veggies. I make sure I drink at least 80oz of water and take my vitamins daily without fail. I am 5'8 and weigh 145 lbs (started at 251 lbs). I would like to lose about 10 more pounds, but if I don't I'm because friends say I don't look like I weigh 145 lbs. More importantly, I am healthy, and I praise the Lord EVERYDAY thanking him for this tool and the journey this has taken me on. ~Cristal~

Hi Angela Great question! I am down 155lbs., and have 45 more pounds to go. I don't count calories, but try to eat healthy foods. I eat three meals a day, with one snack. Meats, cheese, and sometimes eggs are my proteins. I love fruits and veggies. I eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Just within the last month, I've become lactose intolerant, so I have to have Lactaid on my cereal. It isn't too bad. I eat a sandwich for lunch(lean lunchmeat and cheese)or peanut butter and jelly! I love potatoes and rice. I also love my popcorn! As for sweets, I can take a bite of icecream or cake, and I'm satisfied. I like animal crackers, too. Crystal light is my beverage, every day. I sometimes treat myself to a diet pop, but the carbonation stretches my pouch and I can eat more. So, I don't drink pop very often. I exercise at Contours, which is a gym for women. Most importantly, I'm living my life, again!!! Love, Jane 362/207/162

Okay... for breakfast I have 2 scrambled eggs with cheese. For a morning snack, I will eat a slice of cheese or a Q-Smart Bar (10 g protein). For lunch, I make up a salad here at the hospital cafeteria of a small amount of dark green lettuce, lots of cheese, ham, turkey, green olives, hot peppers, chick peas and sunflower seeds. I never eat it all and will either have the rest for an afternoon snack or save it for supper. If I don't eat the leftover salad for an afternoon snack, I will eat either a Q-smart bar, cashews or cheese. For supper, I have a salad or chicken strips or sometimes both. Depending on what I cook for my family, I will sometimes eat a little of that too. For a before bed snack, I have either a SF fudgesicle, more cheese and a few triscuits, SugarFree Banana Bread or cashews. I'm not sure what I'm doing that is bad except maybe not walking enough or getting enough water in but I am behind everyone in weight loss. I also drink hot-tea all day long with splenda. Sometimes I get a craving for some chips and I will eat a couple to ease that craving but not often. Maybe I'm eating too much of what I AM eating?? Oh well, I feel much better but like I said earlier, I get a little down when I read how much everyon eelse has lost sometimes. I sound so ungrateful don't I? I don't mean to, sorry... Pam

pamela dont compare, you are doing great. make sure how many calories you are having one day just to check yourself. when u make the salad i know it will be hard to calculate. maybe if u want to loose some or jump start yourself again get things where the calories have been calculated for ya. you would think that salad is low-cal but w/all the extra's it may be high. when i do a salad i do about cupand half lettuce, 1 package carl budding lunch meat-90c., 1 pc.cheeze-70 cal.,1 tomatoe. for dressing i use 1 sweetandlow, mized whith red wine vinager and my 1tbls. of flaxseed oil for hair grwth. i also take biotin for my hair loss do u? i am on 1200c/day that is the max for us. so if u are still wanting to loose yours should be much less. be proud sweetie,it is hard work angel

Angela, Great topic. I'm having a weird problem now (see other post), but normally... I follow this regimen: 2 multi-vitamins and 3 Viactive everyday. 3 Cups of caff. coffee and too many to count of decaf. I have my coffee with Splenda and low carb french van. creamer. I also drink water and diet pepsi vanilla. For breakfast, I go to Jack in the Box and get a Breakfast Jack (no bun) (that's 1 egg, 1 cheese 1 ham). For lunch, I usually have about 2 oz of lunch meat with 2oz of light cheddar and some fruit. For a snack, I have Vics Cheddar popcorn or an Atkins peanut cluster bar. For dinner... whatever my family eats only less or 1/2 cup of bran flakes with 1/2 cup milk and 1 TBS raisins. For bedtime I have SF jello. For exercise, I go to Curves 3x a week and I was training for a 1/2 marathon.. so, I have a walking schedule that I follow too. Jackie
