I have only recently found this message board and have enjoyed reading through some of the earlier posts. I had my surg on Oct. 28th, 2003. I, as of this morning, have lost 130 pounds. Between my 8th and 9th month I only lost 2 pounds, it was my lowest weight loss ever and the 2 pounds were at the beginning of the 8th month. I was very depressed because I had hoped to lose 150 before I stopped and would love to lose it before my 1 year anniversary. I was afraid I was finished, so decided to join a gym, make sure I was drinking more water and try my best to get in more protein (I don't do the protein drinks well). By the end of my 9th month, I had lost 7 more pounds, and it was earlier in that month that I did that (I actually lost 12 and gained back 5), I continued to exercise (treadmill, elliptical and weights at least 6 days per week. Since the 28th of August, the beginning of my 10 month, I have lost another 8 pounds. It has sure made me want to stay in the exercise mode.

My name is Beverly, I had surgery October 1, 2003 performed by Dr. Prystowsky. I stand 5'4 tall and had a start weight of 359 (367 my heaviest about 4 wks prior to surgery). I have currently lost 126 pounds and weigh 233 pounds and still losing (average 4 pounds monthly). My personal goal is ANYTHING under 200, then pursue tummy tuck, thigh, breast surgery (I have more back problems now then before surgery!) I drink a protein shake every morning (nearly), otherwise eat what I want in vast moderation compared to prior to surgery, must be working, I'm still losing! I look forward to hopefully connecting with some people to help share my rewards, frustrations, and not be alone so much as I have been in this process.

I had surgery 10/31/03 RNY was 257 and am now 137. I'm struggling to keep the weight on. I don't want to lose ANYMORE!!! I'm happy and healthy though and THAT was the goal for this life changing decision/journey!

I don't post much around here, but I do enjoy reading! I am a revision from a vbg done in 1997. I started at 360 pounds then, lost to 240. gained to 315 over 5 years. Had revision to rny on 10-08-04, now I am 220, thats about 95 pounds and 140 since the beginning of my long journey. I thank God for a second chance at this. ~DIana

I'm checking in for Roll Call.. It's been a while since I've been here to post I've been busy. I had my surgery Oct 29th 2004. I started at 362 lbs. My highest was 369 prior to surgery. I've lost a total of 120 since the date of my surgery. I still have a long way to go but I am feeling 100 percent better than I did 11 months ago. The weight loss has slowed down and I need to get back on track with Water and Protien. I'm still exercising and Walking 2 miles a day. I would have like to have been under 200 lbs by my 1 yr anniversary, but it does not look like I will make it. I'm not sweating it. As long as my clothes keep getting looser and the scale moves down once a week. I'm ok. Congratulations to everyone's success! Barbara Watts

I had my lap rny on 10-28-03. I started at 295 and, as of this morning, I'm down to 198! That's a total loss of 97#. I'm a slow loser, but I'm still losing. I'm exercising lots and losing about 7 pounds a month. I hope it doesn't stop! I just got back from a 2 week trip to Europe. We went to 8 different countries. If you've been, you know Europe has steps to climb - everywhere! Well, I've been twice before, but it was much nicer this time without all the extra weight. It really makes a difference. Congrats to you all. Jeannie lap rny 10-28-03 295/198/150

I had Lap-RNy done on 10-13-03. I started out at 233 and i weigh 141 today. A loss of 92# so far. I have been on a plateau for about 6 weeks now and am ready to get on with it! I need to be below 133 for the "normal" range. At 5'1" i feel great and i can and do wear a size 8 petite and a medium top down from the WW26 that i started at... WOW...life is good. I started having issues with dry meat... chicken and pork just get hung up if i don't eat them with gravy or sauce. LIFE... I think i can deal with this little issue considering all. Judy

HAPPY RE BIRTH DAY TO US ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had wls 10-09-03 I am feeling so healthy, no more medication, lots of energy, the only problem I am still having is hair loss / not growing back like it use to. However that is just a minor glitch. Overall I am living and loving life more than I can remember. I also have had 4 girlfriends who have had wls after me and only one had a really hard time post op, but she is doing better now. GOD IS GOOD MAY HE CONTINUE TO BLESS US ALL.
