ROLL CALL
Good Morning October!!!!
I want y'all to know that I love fall. It is my absolute favorite season of the year. And, I woke up this morning to a beautiful 61 degrees (record low for Austin, TX).... makes it even more perfect.
Well, as I sit here and get ready to post this... I can't help but miss my dad incredibly. He was always one of my biggest supporters. I've been overweight all my life (first diet doctor in 1st or 2nd grade). My parents were working poor and my dad still managed to pay for me to go to Weigh****chers and later to join Gloria Marshall's (some sort of a fitness salon). I could always see the pride in my dad's face.
As my profile header says... this surgery is a revision for me. My very first WLS was 12/1997. As of today, I have lost a grand total of 200 lbs since that surgery. My parents were staying with my husband and our family after I had surgery to help out. My dad died 2 weeks after my surgery. He never got to see the benefits of WLS in my life, but I know he'd be incredibly proud. When I was born, my dad was a truck driver... he couldn't finish delivering his load that day because of me... he was delivering a load of flowering plants.... his company gave him the load as a "gift" and he unloaded them all in the front yard for my mom when I was born. What a man!
Anyway, enough crying for me. Since October, I've lost 114 lbs. and I feel great!

Hey everyone!
I had Lap RNY 10/22 with Dr Partridge in Newton Ma. I started at 349 (highest measured weight, but probably was higher) and a TIGHT size 28. I'm 5'9. I am now 203 and size 14 on jeans, large tops. My goal is to be a size 12 and would like to get down to 180.
Mainly I just want to be healthy and keep up with active friends so I joined a gym a few weeks ago and workout 5 days a week. I feel incredible. My weight went up 5 pounds when I first started at the gym but now I'm back to where it was when I started. I can't quite figure out why it did that... but whatever My clothes feel much looser just in these past weeks and I'm much stronger with much more energy.
I've also cut out most booze from my diet now only having maybe one drink a week. (before I would nave 4-5 drinks a week) It was always a glass of wine with dinner or a martini at after-work drinks, but I felt the empty calories were probably building up.
so way to go to all of us! Big congrats to those who are at goal and good luck to those of us who are closing in on it!!

I had my RNY done 10/6/03 and am at a total loss of 176 pounds - strated at 354 and now bounce betwee4n 177-180 pounds. My goal weight was/is 180. I feel a lot better now. No more meds for the type 11 diabetes - no more insulin shots, no sleep apnea. I have lots of energy.
This tool does work if you work with it. Have developed an obession with 'Mike & Ike's' candy - can't leave it alone. That's about it guys.

Hi all,
I had my surgery October 16, 03 and have lost a total of 107 pounds, I've been trying to maintain at 122 for the past 2 months, but I still lost 4 more pounds (over 2 months) now at 118, which is still a good weight for me at 5'1". I have more energy and just love buying clothes, I've only introduced the bad carbs when I reached 122, it sure put the breaks on my weight loss as I average 10 pounds a month until then...

Had lap RNY on the 24th of Oct. I have lost weight pretty steady except for a few plateaus. Right now I am fine where I am. I can wear a size 12 bottom and 10 top. I eat just about anything I want, not in excess. If I get smaller, fine, if not, fine. I feel good and know I have added many more years onto my life.

I always forget to check in and post for the roll call each month! We are a little distracted here, in FL, getting ready for Hurricane Frances to hit. We just went through Charley a couple of weeks ago. I am looking to relocate!
Anyway, I am happy to say that I am down 102 lbs since my surgery on October 27th, 2003. From 251 the day of surgery to 149 today. I wear 9/10 or 11/12 in my pants, and medium shirts. I have been into vigorous exercise for the past two or three months, working on swimming, running, weights, and biking, and am actually beginning to train for a mini triathlon next year! I never thought I would get this far! I am only 5 ft. tall so I could lose some more but I carry my weight very well so I am happy with where I am.
As far as eating goes, I don't have alot of restrictions in my diet. I know I feel better when I eat alot of vegetables and I am conscious of my protein intake. I take supplements and vitamins, iron, calcium, B complex and a multivitamin. Recently I have begun to take biotin and E since my hair is thinner than it used to be. I can eat sugar and sometimes eat more than I should, but I don't feel very good when I do so I don't do it much. I eat rice and bread and other carbs and I don't see them as evil. I think we need balance in our diets, just moderation in everything. Exercise is the key for me!
I had an open roux n y with Dr Jordan Garrison on October 17,2003- I've lost 116lbs -which I know is very good- gut my goal was 150 in the first year. I'm greatful for the weight I've lost but a little depressed i didn't reach my own goal. I need to add more exercise and discipline to my daily routine & I'll get there eventually. Donna
