July roll call
Ok my buddies this is kinda weird but I posed this message yesterday and today it is gone!!! Oh well.
It that time of the month again ( he he he that still sounds funny even today) for us to take a moment to toot our own horn and share our weight loss, loss of inches, cool things we can now do or anything that you want to share about.
I for one am down 110 pounds since Oct and 140 since my highest. I have now lost more than my husband weighs fully dressed!!!! That just cracks me up!!! I have had a good and bad month all rolled into one. I have continued my slow slow slow weight loss but that is fine. I went to my PCP and my Thyroid is off again and that would explain why I feel like I am the walking dead. I normally have hypothyroid and take meds for that but because of the weight loss I am having a hard time controlling the levels and have been hyperthyroid for several months and let me tell anyone who does not have this little diddy of a medical problem it is like you are walking dead!! I never never never nap during the day and I can barely stay awake. Today I even took a nap and still feel like I could sleep for a year and still be tired. Hopefully soon it will get leveled off and I can start to feel normal again.
I am now in a size 16 on the botton and a 14/16 on top. I know that others are smaller but I started at a 32 so I am happy. I would like to see a size 12 on the bottom and like would be grand! I even went to try on clothes at Gap the other day and let me tell you all I felt like an alien walking in the door. I thought everyone was staring at me wondering what I thought I was doing in a normal store. Well I was looking around at all of the Barbie clothes and thinking I could not get my left thigh in this stuff when I came across a cute demin three tiered skirt. I found the biggest size (size 16) and thought I would see what happened. Well I took it into the dressing room and tried it on and low and behold the thing was TOO BIG!!!!! When I walked out and handed it to the sales clerk I tell you my head was held sooooo high. I thought I can shop here if I want too! I belong!!! It was moment to reflect and thank the big GUY!
Anyway I am a bit long winded today, sorry, but lets all share aour wonderful accomplishments

I'm also doing the happy for you. Three cheers for you!!!
I've had a slow month in my loss, I'm only down a pound, but I think I lost inches, but I won't know for sure until I go in for my weigh in at Curves on the 7th.
I saw the surgeon in June also and I'm only 20 lbs till goal. He thinks that I will most likely exceed the 70% loss of excess, and possibly lose about 85-90% of my excess weight. Wouldn't THAT be grand!
I had to have another scope to check the status of my ulcer, and low and behold they found out that I also had a stricture. He said it wasn't too bad, but if I had waited another week or two I probably would have had some problems. But for now.... crisis averted.
Hopefully July will be a better loosing month for me, I'm realy going to kick up the protien, water and exercise... I wasn't too good in June what with going on vacation and then having a health scare with my puppy, exercise was not on my list of priorities.
I'm also going to make an appointment with the plastics doctor (hopefully he can see me this month) to talk about getting the girls lifted. I'm going to hold off on the tummy tuc****il next spring as I want to be at goal and at a steady weight before I get the tummy done.
Well - have a happy 4th. Take care and until next month....

Tanya,
Get your labs checked girl! Being so tired isn't a good thing. What kind of vitamin/mineral suppliments do you take?
My weight loss slowed down quite a bit last month but in the past two weeks I'm down 4.5 lbs so I hope to make my monthly goal of 8 lbs. Overall I'm down 131 lbs. I added more carbs and increased the amount I was eating in order to slow my weight loss down. (Skin needed to catch up a bit.) But it almost stopped instead! So now I'm experimenting with carbs to see what I can do to keep losing. I'm only a pound from my doctors goal and only 11 lbs from my fantasy goal! Wearing solid 14's and even bought a size 12 bathing suit yesterday.

Well Hello everyone I look forward to this post every month I am down 106.5 lbs the best part was trying on capris in the same section as my two teenage daughters and over hearing the oldest tell her friend that her Mom only wears one size bigger than her now.
Going on vacation next week to visit the inlaws they haven't seen me in three years so it should be fun the biggest thing is that I really want to get out there and shop but I am having Tummy Tuck in October (happy rebirthday to me) so I am waiting.
Tanya, Have you been taking your b-12 ?? I had a real lack of energy and since I get the shots now I am much better.

Hi Tanya,
Big congrats on your accomplishments! You should be very proud.
I've hit a plateau for about 4 weeks now, haven't lost a thing! I have been majorly stressed with moving across country and starting a new job, so I don't think I've been eating enough or drinking enough water. Things are starting to calm down in my life so I hope i can get back on track. I have been exercising 5x a week, and mixing it up with hiking, jogging, walking outside enjoying the beautiful weather along with some gym time. i just want to see the scale move again!
I've gone from 349 to 215, -134 lbs since surgery Oct 22nd. I am a size 14/16 on the bottom, size Large on the top. Lane Bryant tops are too big for me now! yay! But I can still buy jeans there. Size 12 jeans is my goal.
Keep up the good work, we all need to stay motivated the further out we get!!

Hello All! I too have had a big slow down in weight loss. But I think I am sabatoging this on purpose. I have always dealt with increased attention from men with food, I hide, etc. I know I do it, I don't know why. Anyway, I have received many compliments from people at work (some of them men) and started having dreams about stopping/slowing my weight loss. While I know I am going to lose an additional 30 lbs, It is nice to know I can slow the train down if I want to. I am now down 106- from my all time high of 300 and in a comfortable 14 or medium. I still swear things are mismarked when I pull those sizes off and the rack and they fit! It is unreal! I feel fantastic and swim every day. I am working on adding more weight bearing exercises to my regime now, to increase muscle tone and build alittle back. I catch myself double checking the mirror when I walk by, I still don't know who that woman is.
Thanks for all the updates and info. I love this site and all the women in on it. I have never met most of you, but feel we have shared a momentous journey together regardless.

I've lost 106 pounds since my Oct 27 surgery date! But I have gained a mountain of confidence.
I was at my 20th year reunion and several guys made comments about how good or in shape I looked. Of course being the wls gal that I am I thanked them and replied that I FELT good too
I'm not losing weight anymore - to speak of but inches continue to come off due to jogging.
I'm very happy and proud of my success. - and of everyone elses too. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Tanya,
This is my first month of maintenance now, I'm still holding on to that 102 lb lost (surgery was Oct 16, 03) I'm at 122 + or - a pound. I have increased my exercise and my fat % has gone down considerably though the weight is the same, I also have introduced a few more "carbs" in my diet, so I guess it is working. Stabilizing is new for me , I know how to go up and how to go down, so I'll keep you all informed on my "adventure" on our monthly roll call, since soon most of you will have to deal with the "maintenance" issue.
Congratulation everyone.
Lucie
Good Morning
I love this post thread every month! Wow, everyone is doing so great. I've lost 103 since October 23rd and -190 from my highest weight. Currently I'm wearing a tight 16 or a 14 stretch on the bottom and a Large shirt on top. I still feel huge.
I started a new job this week (a $25,000 increase for me)... I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten this job (or even tried for it) at 310 lbs.
I was having problems with being sluggish and my B12 was low... so, the doc gave me a shot. It's not a huge improvement, but I have seen some improvement. My exercise regimen isn't what I want it to be. So, I'm gonna do something about it. The personal trainer I want to use is on vacation until July 11th, bu****ch out after that!
I got my first pedicure, since I can now see my toes! Life is GRAND!
