Hiya Adrienne, I am 5'9, started out at 349 pounds, a tight size 28. Now 8 months post-op i'm 217, down 132, and a size 14/16. While a 16 is not "small" by any means, I feel that it's not "oh my god, shoot her she's so HUGE" big either. I want to get to the point where people notice something else about my appearance first besides my weight... such as my height, my face, my eyes, my smile, etc. I want to lose about another 40-50 pounds, I feel like it's a long way to go. blah. But smile girl! You're doing it! You're losing weight! Keep it up and keep working hard, keep smiling! Amy

Hi. I started out at 297 and am 5'8" tall. (or 5' 7 1/2" depending on who measures...). I had my open RNY on 10/14/2003 and have lost 111 pounds. I'm wearing a loose 14 now and a tight 12. Quite honestly, I would be happy to stay at a 12 - no smaller than 10 because I'm afraid if I lost too much more I will start to look really old. Don't ever give up and just know that you're doing really well. My doc tells me I should be at around 170 on my anniversary date and that's 16 pounds away. I've been plateaued for over a month now at 186 but I know it'll change. I guess our bodies just have to adjust once in awhile. I just wish they'd do it quicker. LOL. Dorita ps - the funniest thing I've noticed about losing weight is that I've lost 1/2 size in my shoes and have to get narrow heels now. Isn't that strange? Who would've thought about feet losing weight???

I am not really small but, I am the smallest I have been in my adult life! I started my journey 6/03 had surgery 10/27/03 I was at an ALL time High weight, low self esteem of 427lbs. To date I have lost 175lbs. Went from size 60 pants to 40; 5X to a large in scrubs. I still have a ways to go say 50-75lbs but I am making progress. I have friends et al tell me often to stop losing I look fantastic now but I have a dream 6 ft tall 200lbs and good looking. OK the surgery wont add the extra 1 inch in height or change my mug to good looking, but I do have a chance at 200lbs so I will keep working. I also have changed shoe size from a 12 to a 10 1/2. Ring size from a size 12 1/2 wedding ring to a size 10, my class ring was an 11 as a junior in high school. I can now sit in a booth at restraunts I can sit in stadium chairs and go to movie theaters and sit in any seat I WANT!!!! Jim open RNY 10/27/03-175lbs
