Hi Adrienne!
I have very bad adema in my legs which hasn't improved much since surgery. Probably different from what you have with regular water retention, but when it gets really bad I do the following things:
-cut down on sodium
-double water intake (drinking more fluids helps flush the rest of the fluid out of your system)
-Walk walk walk! Exercise helps pump the fluid from your body
-Keep my feet elevated
I tried taking some water pills a couple of weeks ago and my BP dropped like a rock! I had a lot of problems with it so I wouldn't recommend taking anything unless you talk to your surgeon and regular Dr.
Good luck!
Amy
