Hi there! I just crossed the six month mark last Friday. I am down 102 lbs. It seems like the scale is stalling there, though!! I hope not!! Everyone keep up the good work! Kathy 294/192/155

Kathy you have done a great job. You are so close to your goal. I am also just 6 mths out and I have lost 78 pounds. However I was a light weight when I started. Starting weight was 247 now I am at 169. Grrrr I have been here for a while now. But I am happy at the results I have received from this tool. My god bless all of you on your journey. Hugs Teri

Oh Teri - I'm in the same boat. I started at 250 and have been sitting at 170 for more than two months - it is so frustrating ang I'm so afraid I've just stopped losing. I exercise more than I ever have, and eat reasonably (altho not pure protien) but avoid candy, cookies and the sugar stuff - no soda, no alcoholic stuff - drink tons of water - but no change. Folks around me think I'm crazy for complaining - but I want to lose at least another 25 pounds - and here I am again dieting and not losing! Can you believe it? Then I had a friend of mine die from RNY surgery post op (embellism) three weeks ago and now I really feel like an idiot whining about my weight loss - Ah! what a conundrum! But the truth is - I'm getting kind of angry. Oh well - thanks for letting me vent - I saw your response and was just wanting to know if there are others in my same situation - thanks for posting. Patricia

I started at 246. I went into surgery at 226. I am now at 165. I think that is pretty miraculous considering that I have had 3 surgeries, not one...that I left my surgeon and had real trouble getting follow up...and that I had a wound that did not close til three weeks ago. And I have just started exercising three weeks ago. I am still very anemic [my hemoglobin last month was one point above transfusion level] but I am getting better finally. The weight is slow to come off when you can't move much but I am pretty satisfied with the weight loss so far. I know I will get where I want to go. It will just take me a little longer than some because of my medical issues following the surgery.

Congratulations to everyone on their losses! I am a little over 6 mos and have lost 85 lbs! I just had my six-month follow-up on Tuesday and my doc wanted me to have lost 80lbs so I am right on schedule! I've gone from a size 24/26 to a 14/16 and it doesn't only have to be at Lane Bryant!!!! I started out at 308 and now 223. I've only got 40lbs to get my doc's goal of 70%. I might be a little slower than others but when I get up in the morning to get dressed for work and I pull on those smaller clothes, ask me if I care??!!! I've got 15 more to make the century club and I know that I will make it! Can you all tell I'm excited!!!!! God Bless you all!!

Kathy, don't sweat that 100lbs. mark. You WILL make the century club! It takes some longer than others. Just try to remember - it's not a race! I think the amount of weight lost at this point also depends on your weight at surgery time. So if you were 318.5 to start and you're now at 226.5, that's FANTASTIC!!!! Your 92 lbs loss is WONDERFUL, and you should be extremely proud of yourself. I just celebrated my 6-month anniversary yesterday, and I've lost a total of 115 lbs. I was 402 lbs. on surgery day (10/22/03) and I'm now down to 287lbs. Keep the faith!!!!!! ((HUGS))

Hi Kathy, I was 6 months out on 4/20 and I have lost 88 lbs. I, too, wanted to lose 100lbs by the 6 month mark. I am so happy with my health and weight loss...88 lbs is a great accomplishment! Just as 92 lbs is! We'll get there...very soon! Hugs, Maria 306/218/160???

Hi all, This is my 1st time on this board, but I do see some faces I do know! Anyway, I was just reading this thread, and I'm about to burst into tears. I have lost the least amount of weight out of all of you. My surgery was 10/15 and I've lost 64 lbs. I got down that 64 lbs 2 months ago and haven't lost a pound OR an inch since then. I've heard of plateaus, but this is enough to send me over the edge. I'm a good girl. I eat my protein 1st, have some fruit and veggies in my diet, take all my vitamins, drink close to or exactly 128 oz of liquids a day (water, crystal light, decaf iced tea) I don't "cheat" and eat cookies or chips or any of that, and I work out 3-4 times a week. The only thing we can figure out what might be wrong is I'm not getting enough calories in to what I'm burning, and my body is stuck in starvation mode. I have been getting in about 400-700 per day if I'm lucky. I have changed my work out routine a few times (was told this would jump start the loss again...wrong) Now I'm trying to eat 5-6 times a day to up my calories and cutting back a little on the work outs so I don't burn what I'm trying to get in. Sorry to whine, I usually keep this stuff to myself, but I'm starting to get seriously depressed and sometimes out and out *****y. I do have another appointment with my surgeon on 5/4, and I'm praying I can find out what the hell is wrong with me! Thanks for letting me vent.. Kari

Kari, I just wanted to send you a note to say that YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!! It's been two months and I've only lost 2 pounds. Although I am down 77 pounds, it has been HELL for me. My weight loss is at a big stand still. I too work out daily. The only day that I don't work out is Sunday. To top all of this off, I did my measurements the other day and lost one inch on my right arm. That's it!!!! I too was ticked off!!! My doctor is saying the same thing as yours- I'm not eating enough. I usually eat about 700 calories and I am having a hard time increasing that amount. I see my surgeon on Tuesday to discuss this matter further. There's one thing that I want to share with you that is so important. I too was getting depressed and *****y, but it made me sink so low that I started lacking in my studies and my job. Finally, I realized that I am blessed to have made it this far. Although you and I are at a stand still- Lets rejoice about the progress we've made thus far. Besides, who knows, we may look up one day and it will start happening for us again. We won't let our situation dictate our "livelyhood." Take care and I'll be praying for the both of us. Cherry, RNY- 10/20/03 276/199
