Everybody is doing so good!!! I have lost a total of 73 lbs and finally wearing a size 12 in dresses and pants. I started at 230 now at 157, and I'm 5' 2". I'm exercising everyday at gym walking on treadmill about 3 miles at lunch. I really wish I'd lose a little bit faster, but I'm not going to complain. I'm so much better than I was before. Jan R -73

Hi all, Congratulation to everyone isn't it wonderful, I had my surgery on the 10/16/03 and have lost a total of 81 lb Woohoo! I also find that my appetite is coming back, and I must admit it scares me a little, but I certainly can't eat like I used to. I'm 20 lb from my goal of 122, I go to Curves 3 times a week and use my elliptic trainer on the "off" days. I think what I enjoy the most is being able to shop in "normal" stores... bye bye Lane Bryant. Lucie

Hello everyone. Congratulations to everyone's success. You all are doing so very good. I had my surgery on OCT 28th. I'm down 81 lbs. I feel like I'm stuck here now. I guess it's my turn to experience the platau that others have posted about. I'm going to stay positive and focused. But sometimes when you get on the scale that is not moving it get discouraging. I'm trying to up my protien with out upping my calorie intake. Water Water Water is my best friend. And I'm exercising more. So Hopefully in the next week or so my scale will start moving again. I have not measured so I don't know if I'm losing inches. My clothes do feel very loose so I am sure that I am. I'm still wearing my old loose clothes because I just have not gotten past that mental feeling of un-happiness I used to feel when ever I went into clothes stores. So I just stay away. I'm still planning a shopping spree and makeover sometime in August before my 20 yr high school reunion. Keep up the Great work everyone. Barbara

Hello everybody. I am doing really good and feeling really grateful. I am down 131 pounds since 10/2/2003. I started in a size 30-32 shirt and 26-68 pants (stretched all they hold) and now I am in an XL shirt and some 18s and some 20s in pants. My hair is still falling out some but I have increased my protein, am taking vitamins for the hair, zinc, calcium, and One Source prenatal vitamins. I try to walk three times a week but don't always succeed. I do give in to that head hunger sometimes and it is driving me nuts. I just have to remember this is a tool and not a cure. Thanks for letting me share with you guys.

Everyone is doing so great!!! I am down 81 lbs since my revision on 10/23 for a grand total of -167 lbs from my highest. That just doesn't seem real. I have done a 5k and my new goal is to get ready for the Danskin Triathalon in June. I started this leg (10/23) at a size 30-32 stretch and now I'm a comfortable 20 (no stretch). My goal is 149 or a size 12, whichever comes first! Jackie

I have had another wonderful month... I started the WLS journey on 10-13-03 at 233 @ 5'1". I am down to 159 today and a total of 74 pounds gone. I wear a size 12 in pants and a large top. I feel great! I can eat ANYTHING that i want except for the high sugar and high fat stuff... I dump on it... go me! I just came back from Dalton, GA where I accomplished a huge goal... I climbed a MOUNTAIN! A real big one... from the base to the top... the Apalacian Trail runs across the range top so I was able to "hike" it for a few miles before we trecked back down to sea level. What a mind altering adventure. I never dreamed i would be able to do this prior to WLS. I was just worried about getting out of bed and to the bathroom without pain. Life is so worth the WLS choice... Judy Guay 233/159/130 Only 29# to go till goal...

I am a "remedial" loser. Down 65# since 10-28-03 (started at 295#, now at 230#). No "honors" losing for me. (Yes, this does bug me.) I must say I'm discouraged. I've followed my surgeon's directions to a "T" and have been exercising 60 min/day, 5x per week. I almost didn't post here. It's kind of embarrassing to be so far behind the curve. I'd love to hear from anyone else who's a slow loser. I'd be okay with losing slowly if I knew it'd all come off. It seems like I can and always could eat a lot more than others as far out as me. I've NEVER thrown up since surgery, and no, things don't get stuck. I'm starting to be concerned I may have a stretched stoma. I see my doc in a few weeks for my 6-month check up. I'll ask him then. Hi everyone! Tomorrow is my 6 month anniversary. I hit the century club on Easter Sunday....I'm down 100.4 lbs!! Wooohooo! Only 38 lbs. to goal. I am wearing 16's and some 14's now. I think it was possibly jr. high since I've worn 14's!!!! I still need to work harder at getting my exercise in. That is my biggest challenge. Now that spring is here, I really have no excuse at all. Keep up the good work everyone!! Kathy 294/193.6/155
