Hi Cathy, I had my surgery a week after you (11/3) and I started at 268 and now I'm 191. I am 5'5". We are about the same place.
Cathy,
You are doing well. 77 lbs in only 5 months is faster than many of "us" at this stage. My friend and I had surgery with the same doctor on the same day. We were the same age, height and within 20 lbs of being the same weight. (I was heavier) Post-op we have followed a similar eating/protein plan yet my weight has always come off faster than hers from the beginning. She's not doing anything wrong...it's just the way it is going to be for her. Some people lose slower than others. She has just celebrated 71 lbs lost...I'm at 102. What's different? I joined Curves and have always been stricter with my diet, but does that account for the entire difference? I don't think so. It's just the way it is. Does it really matter? No. We'll get to the same place in our own time.

Cathy,
I had open RNY on 10-22-2003 and started out a weight of 260 lbs. I am 5'7'' tall and I am now at 153 lbs. I am one of the ones who lost very quickly. (to be honest so quickly it scared me and my surgeon for awhile) I have hit my plateau now, right when I am only 8 lbs. from my goal weight) I work out everyday, either at the gym which is better for me ( I actually work out harder there) or here at home on the treadmill and Nordic track. I am 27 years old and feel like I am 16 again. Thank goodness I am not though or the hubby would be in jail! LOL!
