how many pounds per week r u losen'?
I seem to have slowed down substantially. I knew it would happen but I am kinda bummed it has slowed down at month 3. I'm not complaining just curious if I have slowed down before the average wls patient has.
I realize we shouldn't compare - but I guess I'm looking for a norm. In case I need to change something.
thanks,
emily
Hi Emily, I don't weigh myself daily or weekly. I was fortunate to find someone with a doctors scale on my four month anniversary. So I calculated my loss at about 2 lbs a week. This what the surgeon also said to me is a good loss rate. I think exercise is what helps burn those lbs away. I exercises 5-6 times a week and sometimes 2x a day. If I don't I sure start to feel sluggish. Many blessings to you on your journey.
Emily,
Hi I really try not to focus on per week but look at per month. I would make myself crazy! I will lose then sit on a wgt for a couple of weeks and then just drinking 8oz extra water a day or walking extra will start the loss again. Sometimes it's because I'm not eating enough. good luck

Emily,
I just came on this board to ask the same question. Yep, I've slowed down alot, only one or two lbs. a week if I'm lucky. So I joined Curves and have committed to working out. Today was my first day. Funny thing happened there, I was telling the mgr. I had WLS, she said I was her first client, then the girl next to me told her NO she's not, I had it too!
Hi Emily. I slowed down too at 3 months. I quit weighing myself and waited about 3 weeks and finally when I weighed this past Monday, I had lost 5 lbs. I have heard that sometimes your body needs to 'catch up' and it slows down with the weight loss for a while.
I know how you feel though.. i was (and still am sometimes) freaking out thinking that I had stopped losing at 53 lbs. Now I'm up to 58!
I am not going to weigh myself for a few weeks again.. i like that much better than getting ticked off every time I don't see a loss.
You're doing great... just keep up the good work.
Good Morning Emily,
I have been pretty discouraged lately, but I haven't been able to workout in a little more than a week. Well, I say... "not been able to". What I mean is that I'm not in my normal routine and I'm too lazy to do something out of my routine!
I am 17 weeks post op and I've lost 60 lbs. So, that's about 3.5 lbs a week on avg. But, I have a WL chart on my profile and I only put up monthly weights on there and the first month I lost 22 lbs, 2nd month 12 lbs, 3rd month 13 lbs and 4th month 13lbs. So, it looks like 12 - 13 lbs a month at this point. I still want to lose another 101 lbs... so, that seems like a long time at that rate, but I'll take what I can get.

Hi Emily!
I am 16 weeks post op RXY and have lost 76.5# since my surgery. In the past 2 weeks or so the weight is coming off very slowly - 1 to 2-1/2 # week maybe. I am a member of the local YMCA and have made a committment to swim every morning before work 45 min daily. I weigh myself 1x a week. But it is making me crazy lately. I am considering weighing in every 2wks. I am trying to make myself drink 2 quarts of water and increase my protein by using protein drinks every other day. I use real meals very good. When I am down another 15-20# I plan to start walking on weekends also, in my neighborhood. I need to keep the swimming up for therapeutic reasons on my arthritis joints.
