Hi all October pals, I am down 65 pounds now and feeling great! This has been wonderful. The only thing I really need to work on is making it to the gym EVERY day to exercise. My only complaint is I am loosing hair like crazy right now. Oh well, it is a small price to pay. Today is my 48th birthday and I don't think I have looked this good in 30 years!!! Candy

Congratulations to everyone on their weight loss. I find that my weight loss is slowing down a bit now. But I am so so satisfied... I am still exercising three days a week and walking everyday. I think that I am going to start exercising two more days a week to see if that will pick things up some... Great job all!!! 315/239/???

Hi everyone, I have lost a total of 56.5 lbs since surgery on 10/8/03. I just came off of a plateau/water retention period where I actually gained 6 lbs. I have joined Curves and am trying to get there 3 days a week. I am also trying to make an effort to increase my protein and water consumption and keep a better eye on carbs. Carol Beck 282/225.5/140

Hello everyone... you are all doing great, congratulations on your success! I have lost 58 lbs and don't really have too many food problems unless I eat too fast. I was on a little plateau for 3 weeks but today i weighed and lost 5 lbs. I was so glad. I was getting scared that I was done losing. I have joined Curves but for some reason I don't like going because I go alone and it seems weird. I know I need to get over that but I can't find any of my friends who can go with me. I just need to do it... sometimes I need a kick in the pants. Hope everyone continues to do well... Pam

The last time I weighed I had lost 72 pounds. But more exciting for me is that I am under 200 now! 198 I really love my water walking class. I'm not sure if you can do that - do you have a cast? If you can it really is low impact on your body. Good job everyone! Emily Lap RNY on 10/27/2003 270/198/135

Hello all... you are doing a wonderful job dealing with all of the issues of WLS. You are such a positive support in my life. Keep up the posts. I have lost a total of 62 pounds since my surgery on 10/13/03. I started at 233 and today I am at 171. I can eat what ever I want in the protein area and enjoy my protein drink in the morning. I dump on more than 6 grams of sugar and 8 grams of fat. I think this is a wonderful tool to keep me honest to myself. I am thankful that I do because I have noticed I am "testing" the water way to much here lately. I am not exercising faithfully, however I am very active compared to the sedentary life I had 4 months ago. I am in a size 12-14 from a 24-26 and am thrilled at the idea of going smaller. I have cleared out my closets and am ready for the next major jump. Best wishes to all for no plateaus and to hear you are down more next month. Peaches... Judy G 10-13-03 233/171/130

Hello Everyone, Congratulations on all your success. I had my surgery on October 28th and I am down 65 lbs. I'm finally under the 300 lb mark. Somthing I have not seen in years. I can't wait to be under the 200lb mark. Things are going great! I can eat just about anything, but I'm trying to stick with the low carb / High protien diet. I'm walking about a mile a day. I hope to start doing some arobics soon if I can fit them into my schedule. Taking centrum complete vitamins daily so I've graduated from the Flintsones chewables. I'm loving it! Take care all and I wish you all continued success! Barbara Watts - Sacramento CA

Hello to all of my October Siblings!!! For those of you that have been on this board for a while.. my picture has changed. The one I had been using was the one from right before my surgery (at 310); however, I now have a pic of me at my highest (396) and my current photo. I must like to confuse folks! Anyway, since my RNY in Oct, I've lost 60 lbs. That's -146 lbs since 12/97. Of course, I'm still not satisfied. I want to be losing faster. I'm taking my vits everyday. I haven't had any complications... I haven't vomitted and I don't think I've overeaten yet. I still haven't felt "full", but when I've had enough to eat, I start to feel naseous (sp?). I dump on potatoes and virtually anything starchy. I've also dumped on sugar free candy. I keep track of my daily intake on fitday.com I usually eat between 400-600 calories per day with most coming from protein and fat. I go to the gym and do a weight lifting class about 3 times a week though I haven't been in 2 weeks. I'm going to do the Danskin Triathalon in June in Austin. Let me see what else? I'm down from a 30/32 to a 22 or a tight 20. Keep up the good work!!!! Jackie

Hi October Sibs!! Today is my 4 month re-birthday. I have lost 80 lbs. overall, 68 of it since surgery. As of today I am 99 lbs. under my all time highest weight, and only 2 lbs. heavier than I was the day I graduated from high school. I am doing very well with my new lifestyle. I've gotten quite regular with my exercise now...except the past few days cuz I put my back out last Wed.!! I have also started dating again...first time in about 3 years!! Actually, I've dated 2 guys so far, with another one that I have chatted with a few times whom I think I will be meeting soon. This is weird and a bit stressful for me as I've never dated more than 1 person at a time, but I'm enjoying being an attractive woman again! Keep up the goodwork...and see you all next month!
