Hi everyone. Today is my...
Hi everyone. Today is my 3 month anniversary!! I had a Lap RNY on 10/23/03 and to date have lost 46 pounds. I started at 269 and weigh 223 as of this morning.
Things are going good. After hitting a serious plateau and not losing any weight between Thanksgiving and New Years (boy was that frustrating), I have been steadily losing since the first of the year. And even though my hair started coming out this weekend - big gobs of it - I know that I have done the right thing.
People are starting to notice the weight loss - especially in my face and starting to ask what I am doing to lose weight. For those who don't know about my surgery, I tell them I am doing the "low carb thing". Those that know about the surgery are very proud of me.
I have been lucky, with the exception of 3 occasions, I have not dumped on anything. But the reality is, dumping was so unpleasant, I avoid foods that I know will make me sick. Believe it or not, I can eat almost anything at this point - just not much. My 7 year old daughter thinks it is funny that mommy eats less that she does.
Anyway, I am rambling. I would just like to say congrats to all my anniversary buddies and I look forward to hearing from some of you to share triumphs, trials and tribulations.
GOD SPEED!!!
Toni,
Congratualtions on a job well done! Keep up the awesome work. I was three months post- op on the 20th of this month and as of today, I have lost 58 pounds. I'm very excited and people are starting to really notice my weight loss as well. I like your idea about the "low carb diet." I'll have to use that one. I don't have a problem sharing my surgery with those that are close to me, but I don't want to share it with total strangers either. Anyway, take care and God bless!
Hi Toni - I had my lapRNY on October 20th. To date, I've lost 48 pounds. I went over three weeks without losing a pound and now it's slowly starting to move again. I've really noticed it in my clothes though. I started at 244 and a size 22-24. I'm now at 196 and a snug size 16. I feel so much better. I have been so fortunate and have experienced zero complications but have been pretty compliant with doctor's orders! If I could only drink all the water I'm supposed to I'd probably see quicker results...I'm working on it.
Keep up the good work.
Oh my gosh I am so glad I came to this board! I had my open ryn on Oct. 28th and am down only 45 lbs and feel that I am taking it off toooooo slow and I want to be thin right now! lol Thanks to all you who make me feel that where I'm at is ok!! Thanks for posting the first post Toni! My 11 yr old dd laughs too about what small portions I eat now!
Hi Sheri,
I had my lap RXNY on 10/17 and am down 76.5# - current weigh is 220#. I weighed in at 296.5# on surgery day with a BMI of 49.6. I feel so much better! Although the weight loss has really slowed down in the past 3 weeks. 1 to 2 # maybe a week. Hey, we are so much better off since we had our RXNY! Time marches on and the weight will come off! Our bodies have to readjust every once in awhile. Make sure you are doing daily exercise of some sort for you to have high energy levels, very important! Good luck to all of us post ops and God bless us all!
