Going on month three post-op
I had my surgery on Oct. 7th,2003. I have only lost 53 lbs. and I'm not sure I am doing as well as i should be. I do not know any one that has had this surgery, so i do not have anyone to talk to about it. i would like to go to a support group, but it is very difficult for me. i have three young children and my husband works a lot. I would love to here from anyone!
Kimberly,
I think the fact that you have lost 53 lbs is GREAT. I had my lap band done on October 20th and I have lost 37 lbs and happy as **** about it. You can always email me and I will be more then happy to talk to you and help anyway that I can. Don't get discouraged, you will go through a period where you will not lose anything but then you will start again. That happens even when you diet.
My email address is [email protected] I would love to hear from you. Hang in there...any lose is better then no loss!!!!
Congratulation Kimberly 53lbs is wonderful!!!! Keep your chin up girl. We all loose at different rates so don't compare yourself with anyone else. Some of us are taller or started out with alot more than others so that is why some loose faster or slower depending on your situation. Keep up the great job. Please feel free to email me if you need some one to talk to about the journey. Blessings to you.
Kim,
Your weight loss is wonderful! I want to remind you that everyone looses weight at their own pace and not to compare. I know how you feel though. It is hard. My friend had surgery the same day as me and on our first post-op appt she lost 41 pounds and I lost 23! I was shocked. Well we had our 2nd month appt today and her total wieght loss is 59 pounds and mine is 54! I am catching up with her big time. She did not loose hardly anything this month were I did. It all evens out in the end.
Congrats again on your wonderful weight loss!
Tanya
ps email me your phone number and I will be more than happy to be your support person!
Hi Kim-
We have the same "rebirth day". I had RNY on 10/7/03 and to date have lost 55 pounds. I think you are doing great!! I see my surgeon this Thursday so I am hoping he thinks I have done well. I am extremely pleased with the loss. I had hoped for more, but I'm still going. Remember we all loose weight at different rates. You are doing GREAT!

Kimberly, Girl you are doing just fine. I have lost ONLY 52.5 lbs since the day of my surgery, but I love what I feel and look like now, knowing that I will feel and look even better in the months to come keeps me focused. Don't get wrapped up in the numbers, instead look at the inches lost, or sizes, or the things that you can do now that you counld'nt do before WLS. Take a picture of yourself once a month and compare your progress that way. Watch the carbs, increase the protein and exercise, and most all enjoy living!!
