I would like to find someone to talk too, who had surgery in Oct. 2003

Hi, my name is Donna and I had my surgery on 10/21/03. I'm looking for a support person who can answer some of my questions and help with some of my concerns. I only have one friend who had the surgery, but she's had it done almost 3yrs ago. So there is a lot that she just can't help me with! Plus, I wasn't able to attend any post op support groups due to my complications. But, now two months later I'm feeling great, but need some help with some of my concerns. Hi Don You can email me at [email protected]. Things for me went well. I actually only spent 2 days in the hospital. I had RNY Lap. I am finally able to eat most things at 2 1/2 months post op. I still have trouble with meat. Seafood is what I tolerate the best. I have lost 45 pounds post op and am hoping to to start exercising since the holidays are over. Dana

Hello Don and Donna...I had the lap band surgery done on October 20th and I can honestly say that things are moving along just great for me. To date I have lost 37 lbs. It is a slow process and a HUGEEEEEEEEEE life change and like the two of you, I am working on it. Hi Donna- I had a Lap RNY on 10/7/03. Please e-mail me and we can compare notes. I have not been able to attend a support group where my surgeon is ( it is 150 miles away) but our local hospital has recently started a group that I am attending monthly. It does help to have someone about where you are at in the process to talk with. Look forward to hearing from you. Candy

Hey Donna, Just read your note, and it seems we've got some traits in common. First of all, I too am a country fan, and second, and most importantly, my surgery date was October 21, 2003. I'm feeling great down about 110 lbs (lost about 50 lbs prior to surgery with all the special pre-diets). Everyday is a new adventure and I'm loving it. I've already moved away from the big-and-tall man shops, buying my clothes at Wal-mart instead. I eat regular meals, smaller portions of course and water, water, water. I don't know anyone personally who has had the surgery; I've been going it alone. I would love to talk and share ideas. Support is so vital toward a successful journey. Drop me a line.
