I just wanted to get a thread going to see how all of our Oct 2003 newbies are doing. I am four weeks out and starting to turn the corner. I am eating pretty good and feeling better. I still seem to get fatiqued at night after a long day of taking care of my two kids. All in all doing fine and glad to have made the journey. Next newbie please post and let everyone know how you are doing. Tanya T

Hi! I was 4 weeks out as of yesterday. Have had some problems with excruciating muscle spasms where my g-tube apparently snagged against one of my rib muscles, but meds are taking care of that. Otherwise, things couldn't be better! I'm down nearly 40 lbs since Oct.22 (surgery day). I have more energy and just feel better overall than I have in a lonnnnnng time. I'm looking forward to being able to go shopping with my mom and daughter soon - also something I've been unable to do in a long time! I'm so thankful for this surgery, for my wonderful surgeon, Dr. Gooden, and for the love and support of my friends and family. Bless all of you as you continue onward in your journey!!! Amy

Hi, I had my surgery Oct 7th. I am 7 weeks out and lost 37 lbs. I have not had any surgical complications. I do dump when I eat to much. I am still trying to learn when I am full. Good luck to you all. Sharon

I had my surgery a month ago today and I'm down 40 pounds and I'm not really sure about how many inches I've lost but I've gone from a 24-26 to a 20 and those are getting lose. I've really had no complications except for my tummy not liking 1% milk and I had some chicken stuck in my tummy and after I got sick I was just fine.

Feel pretty good. A little tired in evening. I had VBG on 10/28. Have lost 34# in three weeks. Having a hard time keeping down anything that is not creamy or soup. I think I am starting to HATE eating! After trying to eat something solid I wonder "Why didn't I just have soup?" Keeping on -- keeping on. Huggs---

Hello all. I had my surgery on October 2 so I am seven weeks out and have lost 60 pounds. I had a complication with infection in my wound and since October 9 my wound has had to be packed twice a day. It seems like this has been going on forever but it is healing, slowly but surely. As far as the gastric bypass goes, that part has been wonderful. I have been able to tolerate all foods. I do pay the price if I eat too fast though. I have only had dumping twice and it is not pleasant at all. I have not had any problems with vomiting though. I am so grateful that I have lost 60 pounds forever. Looking forward to melting more and more off. My clothes are getting really loose. Sharon F.

Hi, I had my Lap RNY on Oct 29, a little over 3 weeks ago and I have lost 20 lbs. I am worried because so many of you seem to be losing faster! I am having no problems eating, and I haven't experienced dumping. The only thing that has made me a little queasy is tuna. In fact I am worried that I can eat too much! I think I was counting on dumping to keep me in line, so now I guess it is up to me. I went back to work after 10 days and am feeling good. Started exercising yesterday. Does anyone else have the problem of a loudly growling stomach? Mine is pretty active, but I can't tell if it is the old big stomach or the new little one. Anyway, I think it will be helpful to keep in touch with all of you October people!
