I'm back, but the surgery did not happen. I was on the operating table and everything. Well here's what happened. The anesthesiologist (sp) tried to put in an epidural to control pain after the surgery. This has to be done before the surgery because you have to be awake when they put it in. Well anyway, she stuck me with the needle 4 times and when she finally got it in where it belonged, the needle punctured my lung. They thought I was having a heart attack. I ended up in the hospital longer than I would have been there if I had had the surgery. So, now I'm home, in pain, can't breathe too well, and accomplished nothing. I have an appointment with the surgeon and the pulmonary doctor on Monday. If the lung has healed sufficiently, we will try to reschedule surgery for the end of the month. If I can't get on the schedule for the end of November, I'm going to have to postpone until February, because my sister is having heart surgery on Jan. 5th and I want to be at least a month out by then. My poor mother is getting hit from all sides. Anyway, I'm trying to stay positive but it's really hard.

Joanne, bless your heart! I'm so sorry about the complications you went through. What an awful situation. I will pray that everything goes well for you from here on out and ou can get the surgery scheduled by the end of this month. I'm also praying that everything goes smoothly this time! Surely the odds that something like this would happen twice are astronomical. You'll be in my thoughts. Please let us know how you're progressing!! God Bless! Amy

JoAnne, Oh my!!! That is terrible. Epidurals have always scared me. I didn't have one with this surgery. I had a morphine pump. Good luck to you. Jackie
