2-1/2 weeks post op and on soft foods, some troubles.
I had LAP RXY 10/17 and have been on pureeds since 2nd day after surgery. That was fairly easy, but now I am on soft solids since Tuesday and I noticed that it does take me almost 1 hour to eat a meat or seafood dish. Today I made pork tenderloin in terayki sauce, a favorite. I measured out 1/3 cup and cut into very small pieces about less than 1/2" and chewed and chewed. I had to bites close together within 2 min and felt like it was going to come back up. Within in the hour I had only gotten down maybe an 1/8 cp and that was a real chore! Help, what's wrong?? Does anyone have this problem??

I'm 3.5 weeks post-op and had the Gastric Bypass. My surgeon told me that I cannot have beef or por****il 6 months post-op. They say it's very hard to digest. However, I've been breaking all of their other rules so, I guess I shouldn't be surprised to hear that you've already been eating pork. I started eating fish, shrimp, turkey and chicken. I make dinner for my husband and I and take one spoonful of each item on the menu. I eat until I feel full. It usually doen't take me an hour, but the time it takes for me to eat my couple of ounces of food is the same amount of time it takes my husband to eat a plateful of food. Maybe you should not worry about measurements and just listen to your body? Maybe just eat until you feel like it might come back up (hopefully, it won't) and stop there. I'm sorry...this might not be that helpful. Let me know if you'd like to chat about other things. Thanks. JoAnn
