Brenda, just have faith that God will bring you through this a new person. With 5 children, you need to be able to care for them and watch them grow up and be involved in their lives. So in essence, you are also doing this because you love them. But mainly because you love yourself and want what is best for you. Good luck with your EKG and bloodwork. Keep us posted.

I just came home from sugery & the only thing i really needed to take to the hospital was some pjs & slippers. Every thing went wonderful. I will keep you & your kids in my prayers. The ekg & bloodwork were very harmless

Have to tell you honestly, I never really got nervous about the surger weighing in @ 424 pounds scared me to death. I feel like I bought an insurance policy on my life and happiness. There are risks with the surgery, but they far and wide "outweighed" the risks of not having it. Think of things to focus on, not the surgery, think of your kids and favorite events with each one, each time fear creeps in. Hopefully you read alot of the success stories, think of how thin you be, how healthy you will feel. I had my surgery on 9/16, it took several weeks to feel "normal", but now after about a month I feel terrific the energy is coming back. You will feel some amount of depression after surgery and it will be tough sleeping and doing simple activities just take it one day at a time. You'll do GREAT!
