Hey all, I'm stressing big time. My surgeon told me at my initial consult that she didn't want me to lose a specific amount of weight, but just as long as I didn't gain. That was 5 months ago. I've yo-yo'ed during that time but my surgery is in 12 days and I think I'm up a bit from what I was at my original weigh in! I really don't want this thing postponed. I have family flying in from Michigan (i'm in Mass) to help me out. From now until surgery I'm going on a strict diet, but I have to be sure to be careful and not make myself sick. I'm also going to call my surgeon today and explain what happened, I go in for my pre-op weight-in on the 15th. ohhh *stress*

I don't have the answer but I think you should discuss this with your surgeon. 12 days is still time to lose a couple of pounds. Maybe you can try some of the liquid protein meal replacements and get a jump start. Check with the MD to see what he/she thinks. Good luck I hope it works in your favor.

From what I've read in all of the memos, posts and personal accounts many people have been on liquid protien diets before surgery to lose a couple of lbs. Definately talk to your surgeon. Keep us updated! I'll keep you in my thoughts. Jessica Grabinski Mount Pleasant, Michigan
