What to do??COLD/ SINUS PROBLEM

I went to the Doctor for my second visit and he gave me a surgery date October 2 which is seven days away, BUT the BIG problem is I have a cold well I think it's just Sinuses my nose is conjested so if I don't get well then NO surgery and I've worked to hard for it...If ANYONE has some suggestion on how to get well in a few days PLEASE E-MAIL ME A.S.A.P!!! I have been taking Alka-Seltzer Plus but it's not working. PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN.......

Rashun---my surgery date is also Oct 2- I too have been fighting this cold --remember be careful what cha take your not suppose to take anything with ibuprohen in it 2 weeks before surgery.I went to my Pcp and got a three day antibiotic that keeps working for ten days ..just take it easy and rest rest rest

It must be that time of year, I've been fighting with Bronchitis. I have had luck with Tylenol Cold tabs for just a "head cold". But I would suggest you get a prescription for a Z-Pack. It is Zithromycin or something like that and you only take it for 5 days. I know some surgeons give their pts antibiotics right before WLS so I would think the Z-Pack would be a good thing to take to help with your cold and also for precautions for surgery. Marilyn

My surgery is oct 1 and I have a very bad cold too. It must be nerves bringing the immune system down or something. I went in the chat room and asked this question last night and someone said as long as your lungs aren't congested you should be ok. I hope so.

I would like to take this time to thank those who answered my question. I actually had to go to my pcp today and they prescribed me some nasal spray that has already been working they said it will take about 3 days so hopefully I will be able to be on the loosing side real soon!! Thank You All.........
