Topic: 2 Wonderful Years!!!!
Hi Everyone, so great to have this board, have't used it much this summer, husband has been ill, but would love to connect with all you out there that have been post op 2 years etc. What a great journey this has been, we just keep pluging along don't we? When I think back to 2 years ago, and all the pain in my body, the nights spent on the couch because I had no energy after working all day, and now I can't believe I want to be doing something all the time, work partime, walk alot, still make poor food choices, last night had too much pizza, didn't eat the crust, but ate too much cheese, sauce etc, then decided to have coffee later on with some cookies, then was up all night with terrible upset stomach, will we never learn? I know we are a work in process (Ha) I fight the same 10 pds over and over, but have maintained the 120pd lost thankfully. I can't gain it back I would have no clothes to wear (Ha) I gave all my bigger ones away. Well, dear friends keep on fighting the good fight, and we will come out winners, God Bless each and everyone of you, Suzie (Nancy Meriwether)

Hi Nancy, great job on your weight loss, good to connect with others who have had the surgery in Oct 01, hasn't this been wonderful? I started out at 278, now have kept off most but 10 pds up and down, would love to keep that off, but feel good, and love being able to buy cute clothes that look good. may this coming holidays be wonderful for you as we continue to live a healthier and happier lifestyle. God Bless you, Suzie (Nancy Meriwether)

Hi Linda, congrads on your wonderful weight loss, I will be 2 years this coming week Oct 15, 2001, can't believe it, where did the time go? What a wonderful blessing we have had to be able to have this surgery. When I read of the struggle so many have with the insurance co etc I can't believe it is over for us. I had the tt/hernia surgery June of 2002 after losing 90 pds, then went on and lost 40 more pds, and had somemore lipo, and revision of the tt scar done Jan 03, I had to pay some of the last surgery but it was worth every cent. I fight 10pds all the time, at least it is only 10pds instead of 130pds. I just had my annual physicial, and the Dr said don't lost anymore, I said you are the first in my life to say that (Ha) He said it will make you look too old, I am 62 this Nov, so I don't want to look any older for sure. This is such an incrible journey isn't it? worth every pain, to think where we were 2 years ago, to have the energy to do all we do now, and to look good in all those cute clothes, what a blessing, keep on doing good, it is a gift to ourselves, would love to hear from you anytime, God Bless Suzie (Nancy Meriwether)

Elizabeth & Hubby,
Congrats to the both of you. I am also two years out today. I have lost about 130 pounds. I hope to keep losing some. And yes, it has given me a new lease on life. I can now enjoy my 2 young sons, whom, I could not do much with before my surgery.
This truly is a life saving surgery. I am so blessed that God gave me the courage and my surgeon the knowledge to go ahead with this surgery.

Tonya,
Happy Anniversary for starters!
I have pretty much eaten the same things for the past year also but I do experiment with new things now and then. Pasta is a definate no-no for me since sugery but most other things are ok. I still only eat a cup of food as I just can't hold any more. I was so afraid of stretching my pouch in the beginning that I always measured my food. I know what a cup looks like and just go from there. I have started a job and am finding it a huge challenge to eat and drink enough each day. I take little snack foods like a cut up apple or some cheese to eat on my break now and carry around a bottle of water with me so it's visable on a more frequent bases.
Hope this helps! Elizabeth

This has been the most incredible journey I have ever embarked on. I have lost over 130 lbs and feel as though I have been give back a life I long forgot about. This was truly the best gift I have ever given myself. I would do it all over again if I had to.
My husband was so thrilled with the benefits I have experienced that he had the surgery in April of 2003. 5 months out he is down 120 lbs, and went off his diabetes, high blood pressure, gout, cholestrol meds within a month and and threw away the CPAP machine inside 2 months!!!!!!
We are confident we have given ourselves a long future together with many adventures ahead of us.
Topic: I'm half the person I used to be! Need a plastic Surgeon!
Ocyober 8th will mark the 2 year point for me. My BMI is 20.7 and I wear a size 4. I weigh 117lbs...I had hoped to get down to 135, so this is truly a shock to me. I need to get plastic surgery (virtually everywhere). I live in North Alabama in case anyone has any suggestions for a good plastic surgeon. I'd love to hear from anyone with similar problems. Comparatively speaking these problems are minor. Being free of high blood pressure, diabetes and liver enlargment (to name a few...now those were problems) is too good to be true.
Topic: And the battle continues, LOL
Well down 120 from my surgery and have the continuing battle with 10lbs that come and go.... Still very glad I did it,....
