Topic: RE: 2 YEARS POST OP
dear roxane,
i understand how you are feeling...i recently put back 12 pounds and i'm sure it's because i am able to eat more...and keep it down! we are not the only ones...my friend sue,who had her surgery 6 months later, has gaine 20 pounds...i am trying the atkins diet now and have dropped 7 pounds but if i can eat more...this is discouraging because i will be fighting the weight battle again...i am seriously thinking about revision although i think my insurance will give up on me...you see,i had a gastric band first and that didn't work...then the bypass now maybe revision...i don't think they will approve...
so,i think walking and exercise can be the answer if you stick to it...for me,it's hard...i work a full time job and a part time job...no time for exercise other than what i get working and i'm a hospital worker so i do get plenty...good luck and let me know how you're doing....fondly,fran

Topic: RE: Motivation to lose the last 40 pounds
Funny I too need to loose 50 more lbs. Im glad im not the only one that is having a hard time getting back on track. Too bad we dont have those same feelings of not wanting to snack or even eat lol. Coz it sure would be alot easier then it is now. Im inquiring to get my tummy tuck but want to loose that weight before I do it.
Anyone out there have any suggestions at all to get back on track please post it here.

Hi Gang,
Well.....the honeymoon is over. The weight has stopped "falling off". I feel great, eat anything I want, and have stopped losing. What I need now, is to get back on track. Do you have any helpful hints to jump start the weight loss process again? I started going back to Gold's Gym last week, cut down on simple carbs, curbed the snacking and I'm getting more rest. It's not as much fun as it used to be. I'm still on the Obesity scale, sure would like to be "overweight".

Hi Suzie
I too had my surgery 2 yrs ago Oct 11, 2001. Weight loss of 154lbs, U are right bout what a journey we all go thru. I also go battle with 10 to 15lbs of weight up and down. But at least we have learned how to maintain it right? Not like we did before.
I remember walking with two canes and not being able to stand in the Walmart stores waiting in the lines. I was thinking of that the other day when I was Christmas Shopping told my gf that I cant believe the progress that I have come thru, having this surgery done. It has brought alot of laughter, and alot of trials to me.
Altho I battle with the limitations of what I can only eat. The red meat person is no longer. If only I could use my tool alittle better then I could the first year I think I could loose alittle more weight.
Enjoy the holidays and many more to come.

Hi Wendy,
I must agree with you. it was the best thing I ever did for myself. I have lost 190 pounds to date. my life is forever changed. I think the only people who can truly understand are the ones who it also happened to!

Congrats on your weight loss. I am six weeks post op and struggling with my weight loss. The food cravings are driving me out of my mind. But I have been abstaining from sugar, flour, caffeine, and sugar substitutes as I am trying to work a food plan in Overeater's Anonymous. However, the weight is coming off really slowly. Has the exercising been what's helped with your success? Because I notice when I work out I lose a little better than if I don't, I just have a hard time with my schedule always getting it in. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I can't believe it - I have lost 174 lbs in two years. Walking, riding bike helped so much. But first I had to lose some weight in order to walk and bike! I still can't believe it!
