maintain healthy weight 12+ years

Discovering long term effects that were unknown  when I had surgery. ( yes, I'd do it again)

micronutrient malabsorption may have developed into autonomic dysfunction . For me.  specialist suggests vitamin and mineral IV therapy. Great article on symptoms . I had 15 symptoms of autonomic dysfunction / failure.  IV infusion scheduled. I hope to feel like a new woman!

Hey sweetie--so glad to see you here! I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your son. It sounds like you have lots going on...Physically and Emotionally.I am curious to hear of your bowel issues and hernia's. I have had reoccurring hernia's since I first underwent surgery in 2001; I think at last count I have had 15 hernia repairs- the last two were as recent as this summer. Why do you want a revision? I only ask because I was saying those words too about two years ago.

I changed my ENTIRE LIFE around-- I'm not talking a little "tinkering" here or there--- I am healthy and love sharing with others what I have found to be successful. There really is a quick fix--responsibility. It is not EASY or painless, it just takes courage!

Of course it is not a QUICK FIX of instantaneous "Everything is PERFECT"...or even great-- but taking responsibility for your thoughts, beliefs and actions is where freedom begins to a healthier, happier you. I do know how you can start healing...just saying! :)

I am here or I should say, back again, looking for answers..  Desperately coming back to the site, as I am regaining and I DO NOT LIKE IT!

Somethings going on in my stomach, I go to a General Surgeon on the 28th for tests.    I think it's another hernia, but I am also having major bowel issues.   If it is anything related to my RNY almost 9 years ago, I will update.  I seriously am wanting some kind of revision and am on site, looking for answers if that is at all possible after a RNY.

Other than that, I'm still grieving, as I haven't been on site, many do not know that my youngest son was murdered Sept 8, 2012 and Momma's been all kind of stressed out and just plain lonesome for my son.

hi bullwinkle,  I don't know if you still check back here.  You posted this a year ago.  I just re-joined here.  I had my surgery 10/01, too.  I had a daughter in '03 and another daughter in '04.  I wish I'd have come here a year ago so we could talk!  I relate to your situation.  I lost about 130 lbs, then got pregnant, broke the rules for the same reasons you did.  I now weigh 263.  I never ever got close to my goal weight, but of course I lost a lot anyway.  What's weird is I gained something like 19 lbs with daughter #1, and it came off afterwards in just a few days and it was effortless.  And I also began to lose at a steady pace (before the pregnancy I had plateaued for 6 months or so).  Then I got pregnant again 5 months after having the first baby.  I lost that baby weight fast, too.  But my habits after that were to eat ALL the time.  Because I couldn't eat much at once and I needed to make sure and get enough nutrition for the baby.  I just couldn not break that habit.  Then I know I can also eat more than I could the first two years after the surgery.  I still can't eat as much as I could pre-op, so you'd think I could still lose the weight, but it seems that I struggle with weight as much as I did before.  But maybe I am just not remembering correctly, because obviously I'm not over 350 pounds like I was back then, and I don't feel afraid that I'll ever get that big again.  BUT, weighing 260 is STILL very over weight.  Having had this major surgery 7 and a half years ago, all the pain I went through and money spent....I feel like such a failure.  I read one of my first entries on this site from before my surgery, about how I'd heard of people who had the surgery and then sabatoged themselves by eating high calorie/low volume foods and I swore I would never let that happen.  Yet, here I am still obese.  I don't even know if you will see this bullwinkle, but I hope you do so we can talk about it and maybe help each other.
