Topic: RE: GOING TO DR TOMORROW
I had my surgery October 31, 2000 and I have gained back 25 lbs.  (total loss was 110 lbs) I am having a revision on Dec 1st.  The exit to my stomach has narrowed and my stomach has streched.  I hate the thought of starting over but I feel as if I have no choice.  I want to have some skin removed from by stomach when I do my revision but my surgeon has not ok's it.  I am having the same Dr. that did my orginal surgery do my revision. He is in Houston, TX  I know it can suck (the gaining back part) and some people do so well.  I had a vision that I was going to be 140 # and happy.  I am 200 #'s and having pain in my stomach.  Where are you located at?  If you find out any info on the skin removal let me know.  Best of luck to you....

Can anyone tell me anything about this doctor? I'm 7.5 years post-op and I need a primary care physician who knows about taking care of post-ops. I've moved six times since my bypass and I'm getting the short end by always being the first gb in a practice -- thereby having to "train the doctor". What I don't know they don't know, and that's very VERY bad for ME. Even though I'm taking supplements (adult chewable vitamins, sublingual b complex, dissolve-in-liquid "joint juice" and C) I'm still suffering from malnutrition. I eat well and still have teeth coming loose. Front ones. Bones/joints becoming compromised. And I now have a 6" x 6" patch of surgical mesh in the middle of my chest because the last surgeon ran out of "material" (my abdominal wall muscle tissue) after she removed all the adhesions and scars to sew me back up. This is SERIOUS. I can't afford to keep learning about what my bypass can do (and all the peripheral things that now come into play when most of my intestines are offline) the hard way. It's getting irksome having my body bite me because I don't have a medical degree of my own. So I want a GP that takes my insurance (BCBS PPO) and is adept in the ongoing aftercare of WLS patients. Would particularly like someone who can also help me with the additional post-op care/feeding for when I get around to having my plastic surgery to remove "ET" from my midsection and the "batwings" from my arms. Is my search over? Is this the guy? I have an appointment with him Wednesday morning at 9:30, so I'm very hopeful. I live in Stone Mountain, and he has an office here in town. That was a plus I wasn't expecting. Would have driven 50+ miles for someone who knows how to help me take GOOD care of me. Anyone have any good intel here?

Congrats on your weight loss! Never give up pursuing your dreams of losing more but never forget to celebrate your amazing success so far. As for the odor - try Devrom. I know many people that it has worked very well for!! Best wishes!

Hi Kathleen, So sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. My mom has been gone 10 years this past mother's day (yeah, she passed away on mother's day). I still miss her so much it hurts. There is no one like your mother. Also sorry to hear you picked up smoking. I hope you can ditch that habit in the future when things get a little better. If you can lose all that weight then I know you can do the smoking bit, too. I wish you all the luck in the world. Let us all know how you do!!!!! Cathy

I wish I had advice for you, I'm experiencing the same problem. So if you get information please let me know and If I hear anything I will update with you. My bloating is worse than the gas and I've tried to watch what I eat and I'm wondering if this is somthing I'll have to deal with for a lifetime or could I possible have a certain food allergy? Well, I'll just pray and hope for the best for a reply to your answer and again if I hear anything I'll update with you. Take Care! Betty
