Topic: September 10 Revision
I will be having my RNY revision AND removal of hernia mesh graft/replacement of graft. For some reason I am more afraid then when I had mine 11 years ago. WOuld love to hear from others having surgery or have had surgery this month. Currently on liquid protein diet and have been since last Monday but too nervous to eat anyhow. LOL

I'm home!
Surgery went perfectly! I had no complications and it only took about an hour.
I was next to a HORRIBLE woman in recovery who was swearing at everyone! The. I finally got taken Up to my room. It was a private room with a special pullout bed for my mom.
I'll warn you all of the gas pain. Bloody hell! It is the worst! Walk as soon as you can, that will help move the gasses through your system. It was definitely not something I was prepared for.
I did have some dry heaving which was NOT fun! Make sure you get your mouth swabs. I was able to choose between lemon and spearmint. Yes, I snagged the remaining ones from the hospital
I didn't get to do anything as far as hygiene is concerned. They worry that people will sneak sips of water if they allow you to wash your face or brush your teeth. But then they started me on one oz of water Then I progressed to protein shakes. This wasn't easy because they mixed them with water where as I'm used to mixing mine with milk.
When I got home, I had an intestinal issue. I won't go into details ad but I will say it scared me !! Called the doc and he wants me to call first thing in the AM.
BUT AS I SAID. I'm home, am exhausted and was down 9 lbs by end of my rep-op phase. Pretty crazy stuff!!
I am sorry for any typos. My mom confiscated my PC AND I'm using my phone so it may be choppy and not make sense.
I'm off to make some chicken soup now. Have a flood night and i'llnso my best to update all when I have more energy!!

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL MY SURGERY DATE IS SEPTEMBER THE 17TH.....AND I FEEL THE SAME WAY. HAVE YOU STARTED YOUR PREOP DIET YET?

I haven't been able to sleep either! It's almost 4am here in Cali and my mom will be arriving to pick me up at 5:30ish, we have to leave by 6 because its about an hour and a half drive to the hospital. My husband is currently out of town and is in a total panic because he's not here. I just made him hang up and go to bed lol. He's more nervous than I am. I'm supposed to check in by 7:30 and my surgery is scheduled for 9:30! I'm so excited! Hope everyone posts after surgery.

3 hours now until I'm to arrive at the surgical center. I can't sleep! I'm so nervous/excited! Best of luck to you Summer R! I'll be praying for everyone having surgery today too. I can't believe today is the day.

Weve got the same date to enter this new life! Just wi**** would be here already so that my crazy nervous excitment would end and i can actually breathe! Yhe best of luck to u and all others sharing this date...
