I am hoping that I will only need to take no more than two weeks off of work.  I have a job that will allow me to do light duty if I come back after two weeks.  Is anyone hoping for the same?  How long are you taking off work?

Congrats and good luck on your surgery! I'm having my RNY on Sept 6th and have booked off 6 weeks. Which surgery are you having?

HOLY **** 6 weeks???? Are you having Open RNY?

I am having laproscopic RNY on Sept 7th. I took 2 weeks off from work. Most people on the main RNY forum say 2 weeks unless you have complications of course...and it does vary from person to person. Some people said they were back in exactly a week.

I took off 2 weeks just in case.

It's really your preference.

GOOD LUCK

I'm having laproscopic. Some people here go back sooner, some later. 6 weeks minimum is what is recommended by my pcp. When I went for my pyschologist appt she recommended at least 6 weeks. I have spoken with people who definitely would not have been ready after two weeks. I guess it also depends what you do...
