how did everyones surgeries go? how is everyone feeling?
my surgery went well, felt great the first day. had some problems with my veins/iv the second, was released the third. i'm feeling mostly okay. in the morning i feel good, but by the end of the day i'm exhausted and achy. hopefully a few more days and i'll be fine. i'm having no trouble getting in all my fluids, but am having a hard time getting in 60g of protein, i got 48 today so i'm thinking that's a good start. i just can't seem to stomach a 3rd shake.

HI there, I'm new to the Board. Wondering how your surger went? I'm going through the WLS procedure and scheduled to meet with my surgeon on October 19 to discuss VSG. Hope all is well with you!

Samantha,
I hope you are doing well. Hopefully you are at home recuperating.
Surgery went well for me but had trouble with my bladder waking up. They took out the foley cath and I could not void. Ended up with multiple scans and straight caths. This morning (Friday) the dam finally broke and they let me go home. I was admitted Tuesday but expected to be home on Wednesday morning after they did the flouroscopy.
Magee Woman'sHospital staff was exceptional. Very caring and responsive.
When you get a chance let me know how you did.

I also had my RNY on 9-10-10. I did pretty well on pre-surgery diet. Surgeon was please with my shrivaled liver! I also do not like protein drinks. I had problems drinking water due to swollen esophagus from surgery. I was kept an extra day in the hospital but set a new record for walking laps of the floor. I also had to have a gastronomy tube due to slow emptying stomach.
Yesterday I was able to start on soft foods. It is going pretty well even though I pulled the stomach muscles to the left of the surgery site last week. I am going to the Y to ride the exercise bike every day and will start the weight machines as soon as the surgeon says it is ok. I have one more week off from work and all this regimented protein and water all day is driving me crazy. I am having trouble eating as much as the surgeon wants me to but I keep trying.
I have lost the surgery weight gain and about 9 pounds as of today from weight on day of surgery.
