Congrats! Those dates are coming so fast! Mine is 9/20!
I can't wait to finally be healthy too! Since I could remember, I was always obese. It's going to be a huge change but I am finally ready. =)

Topic: RE: Sept 10th 2010 Surgery date
My RNY surgery is 9/14 and I have had mixed emotions all along. I think that when I meet with the surgeon 8/26 to ask the questions I have been wondering about surgery that I will feel much better. The closer it gets I am anxious. Happy to start a new life and get to a healthy weight but apprehensive about the bodily changes that will take place during surgery. I am sure that is normal.

I am scheduled for the RNY on 9/14. I had surgery 5 yrs ago to correct a hernia and was referred to a Boston surgeon. I made the appointment in Oct 2009 and had to wait until June 2010 just to get to see him. When I finally met him he set me up for surgery for the RNY. I was caught up in the whirlwind of making appointments, etc. that I didn't realize there was any other surgery.
Since reading this site I noticed that there were other options. I tried to get an appointment for 5 weeks to discuss the differences and finally I am going on 8/26 to discuss the options in detail. I most likely will still keep with the RNY surgery but want to be well informed. At least I will have the opportunity to ask him all the questions I have been wanting to know the answers to.

It's nice to "meet" all the September ppl going through this at the same time as me! I'm scheduled for a DS on Sept. 20th in Abington, PA. I'm so excited, it's just over 3 weeks away!
