My decision to have surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My blood pressure has decreased, my knees no longer hurt, and I'm FULL OF ENERGY. Before surgery I never wanted to leave the house. Now I never want to be in the house. Even though it's discouraged I absolutely LOVE SHOPPING. That's all I want to do is shop, shop, shop.  Prior to surgery I wore a size 18 but was pushing size 20 because my 18's were tight. Today I wear a size 11/12.

I've been at a plateau for about 3-4 weeks now and I was starting to get a little discouraged but I know that it will fall off eventually. I hired a personal trainer and I work out 5 days a week. This surgery has given me a new lease on life and I'm so thankful. I will not go back down that road again. I refuse too. Your story gives me hope. To see that your mom has kept it off this long and has only flucuated 10 pounds is AWESOME. I love hearing stories like that.

Thank you so much for replying. I've increased my protein for the past couple of days just from reading the blogs so I hope to see a change soon. The inches are definately falling off. I was able to fit a pair of size 11 jeans that would not button two weeks ago so something is working. I work out 5 days a week / 3 days with a trainer.

I'm going to try to incorporate more water into my regimine too. It's nice to meet someone who had surgery around the same time as me. I will let you know when I make it over this hurdle. Thanks for your support.

Just wanted to say hello and to ask how is everyone doing so far? Good or bad how are you feeling inside and outside and what do you think about your surgery experience thus far?

I myself am happy with my progress so far. I know I am reading posts of people that have lost way more weight than I have and I am not worried about it because I had this surgery for me. I think I am doing well with this surgery and couldn't be happier, and I may not post that often but I am on this site daily lurking; so please if you have time post your experiences because new people out there are counting on our expertise!

Good day all!!

Hello there!

I noticed a stall when I lost about 24lbs, 44lbs, and now 60lbs and they last for about 2-3 weeks for me. I told my husband it looks like I am losing about 11-15lbs a month and I still haven't taken my measurements which I know are moving as well. So the weeks the scale doesn't move my waist line is so I am not worried. I am not particularly worried about how fast I lose the weight because I know that it is going to go sooner than later and that maybe my excess skin won't be so noticeable.

From past posts that I have read on here they say you can break a stall by changing up your diet ie more protein and maybe more exercise which I haven't done neither but it does seem to work for the others on here. Let me take that back I have noticed the scales move more when I do get more protein in.

Good luck and try not to beat yourself up when you hit a stall......

Hello All,

I'm interested in speaking with people who had surgery in September 2009. My surgery date was 9/9/09 and I have lost 60 pounds so far.  I've been at a plateau for about 3-4 weeks now and I'm interested in finding out if anyone else 4 months out has too and if so, how they got over it.

Thanks. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hello.  My surgery was on 9/9/9 and I've lost 60 so far. I've been at a plateau for 3-4 weeks now and I'm getting discouraged. Have you reached one yet?

I am also a 9/8er and I am at 7.5 on my band fill, the restriction is a lot better than it was. I was 268 and now I'm 242.  I am now at a stand still and don't know what to do. I am an emotional eater, still seeing a counselor for that and I am reading a book called "Feeding the Hungry Heart".  The Protein Shakes are terrible and I'm doing well with the water either.
Any suggestions.
