Make sure you have your vitamins, shakes, blender, and other items ready for when you get home. Don't bother packing much for the hospital. I was so doped up I didn't use anything. Walk at the hospital as much as you can and when you get home, remember to walk and sip frequently. Do pack something stretchy to wear home so it's not tight across your incisions. Other than that, take a few deeps breaths and try to relax. Everything will be great. I'm 8 days post-op and I feel pretty good. I haven't taken any pain meds in 3 days. It was nowhere near as bad as I expected. Good luck!!!!

Can you give me so of your shake ideas? I am having a hard time getting shakes down. So far I can handle the Deisgner Whey chocolate, but I'm already getting sick of it and need ideas.
Topic: RE: How much protein (oz) are you able to get in 5 days post op??
I'm 8 days post-op and I'm struggling to get all the protein it. My doc stresses that this early out that it's more important to get in liquids so we don't dehydrate. Have you tried the protein bullets? Walmart carries them and their less than 3 oz. of liquid and pack 20 grams of protein. They taste like snowball syrup so they go down pretty easy too. Today has been better, I've gotten more in today so far, so it feels like it will get easier.

also try posting an "all call" on your particular state message board. I found a few people who have my surgeon by doing that.

I was wondering too - and I was able to find a few people. Go up to the top right under the search bar, and click on bariatric surgeons. Find yours and it will bring you up to his/her OH page. On the right it says his/her OH forum - click on it and on the next page you come to, on the right will be a list of people preop/postop.
