I guess we start our new life the same day!  I am sure it will go fine for both of us (& all others), my mtg with surgeon is same day, pre-surgery bloodwork, etc  I believe.  I am getting nervous and excited both at the same time!

My all day testing on the 10th went fantastic! Everyone was so nice and all of my tests came back fine. Looks like I am pretty healthy for being so unhealthy :-) Next step is meeting with the surgeon on the 21st and if all goes well with that surgery is a short week later.

Hi Diane, I have been with this man for almost 30 years and yes there is alot of water under the bridge. The weight thing will probably be the last straw but we shall see.I don't look for him to change his habits he never has after all these years so I have little faith that will happen. My youngest son asked me well what about Dad's health and I just said that's on him.Basically we live together but we each go our own way. That's sad but that's what is and I have acceppted it . I still can do afford to go on vacs. with friends and so it works I guess for both of us because believe you me he is off doing his own thing also.I'm not close with my family but consider my friends family.I am finding this first week is hard because I am hungry and doc. told me he gave me a really tight sleeve. I will call office Monday and ask if that is normal. You are getting closer to your date so I am hoping peace for you.I know in the long run we are going to shine and be healthy, Cindy

I am having the same problem and have to do this for 2 weeks too. The only one I am liking is Slim Fast high protien. Some days are worse than others and today is not a good one. I feel I want to eat so bad, but have not :). Good luck 1 more week to go, we can do this.

Welcome home!
I'm glad you are feeling good, hearing about your gas pain is one thing I'm not looking forward to.  My surgery is Wednesday and I'm so worried about getting in my water.  I'm so bad with drinking it now that I'm worried how i'll be after surgery.

I just keep thinking sip sip sip. walk walk walk.

Cant wait to hear how your progress is going

Sheree -
I saw your photos - I still need to post mine. I'm starting out about 10 pounds heavier than you (though I've lost 79 pre-surgery). I'm having surgery in 3 days, and I can't wait either. I'm 41, my kids are 18 and 13. Like you, I can't wait for the new me. I already love that my jeans are baggy in the butt right out of the dryer LOL. I still have my biggest pair - size 32 - and I'm hanging on to those to see what they look like in a year or two.

I still have to take my official "before surgery" pictures - but I will also upload some from when I was bigger than I am now. I'm not sure if there are any from when I was at 389 (my maximum) - I guess you never know when you are at the biggest you will get - or when you start a diet that is actually going to go someplace good. Unfortunately every diet before now has ended up with me gaining back all of the weight and many extra pounds on top of that. So I'm hoping and praying that the RNY surgery will help me make the permanent changes in my life that will prevent me from ever coming back to the 300's again. And being at 310 - I know getting to the 200's should be a short journey, but I am really looking forward to saying GOOD BYE to the 200's someday - and for good!

Good luck to you - hopefully I will be able to check in with you after my surgery and before yours. Even though we aren't the same day - we're close enough in date to be surgery buddies. Besides, we're almost the same age - so hopefully we will progress in a similar manner. Keep me posted - looking forward to watching you shrink along with me.

By the way - I've decided to take a picture on my monthly surgery date to try to keep track of my progress - hopefully to help me see the changes that I know my head won't see in the mirror. A lot of people in my support group seem to thing that's a good idea. Just a thought.

Nice to meet you ... here we go!

you are so sweet and thank you. You just don't know how much it means to have a compliment. When you gain weight that is all MOST people see is the weight. They don't see the person inside or the physical attributes due to the excess weight. You are beautiful as well ans seem to be really really sweet. Thank you once again, it makes a difference...and keep up the good work!

Thankfully I didn't have to diet for two weeks. So I was able to pig out  for the last time. Hang in there. Remember this quote, "If there is no struggle, there is no progress" FD. Just keep saying that to yourself throughout the entire process. Also, remember to WALK WALK WALK. You can walk the day of surgery too. Everytime you get your pain medication, WALK. It helps to feel better.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I was excited and nervous all in one. I think the person who helped to make me feel good about it while I was in the hospital waiting for my surgery was the anesthesiologist. He said that it was good that I was smiling because that energy helps. He was so smooth that I didnt even notice him injecting me with the medication. He looked me in the eye, talked to me and the next thing I knew I was in the recovery room. It couldn't have gone any better. Just remember to sip water and WALK. WALK, WALK, WALK. It will help. Everytime you get your pain medication get up and walk.

Also, know that most people have doubts and regrets after the surgery. That's common. Just think about the ultimate goal and remember this quote "If there is no struggle, there is no progress" FD.  Keep saying that to yourself ok? Good luck.
