Paula...congrats. I'm set for the 30th too. I have three girls. I'm excited and nervous. We will have to keep in touch so we can share our experiences. I'm ready to rock and roll!! You're right about this month being F...O...R....E...V...E...R! I finished all my pre-op stuff in July and the doc's office didn't submit it until Septemember. I thought I'd go crazy!
Anyway, good luck to you!

Marie,
You're going to do well. If you don't remember anything else remember to walk. WALK, WALK, WALK. I was walking after surgery. EVERYTIME you get your pain medication get up and walk. I cannot tell you how good it felt to walk. I just came back in from walking around the block with my husband and this is only day 4. The hospital said I was doing the best out of everyone there because I forced myself to walk. The others didn't want to get out of bed. Believe me I had the pain, but I was determined to adhere to the advice given in the threads. I thank God I listened.
Now the challenge for me is to remember that I just had surgery. I feel really good today and I just want to get out but my doctor told me this would happen so I'm reminding myself that I still have to take it slow.
One last thing...you will be given a tummy wrap to hold it in. The tighter the better. The funny thing is the nurses didn't know how to make it tight. They were all skinny though. I'm used to sucking it in and making things tighter. I will continue to update this post daily to hopefully give you inspiration. you will do GREAT!!

This is great to hear I am scheduled on the 21st and I am nervous and to hear from someone who just had the surgery and is doing good really helps. I am in the process of my 2 weeks of liquids and this is really tough as I am hungry and want to eat. Keep up the good work and look forward to hearing from you again.

I know exactly how you feel. My advice is
1. Keep reading forums that pertain to your type of surgery
2. Take notes
3. Have a positive attitude the day off
4. Remind yourself that you're doing this for you and for a good reason and ignore negative energy.
5. Prepare yourself for change and you will not be depressed because you're expecting it.
I hope this helps. oh...don't try to remember everything at once. It will come. I thought I would never remember everything; vitamins, walking, sipping, 64 ounches, 30-30-30 rule etc. but this is my 4th day out and I'm doing it. Good luck to you.
