GOOD FOR YOU. Your last supper. I did that too. I ate everything that I love and wouldn't normally eat. Chipotle, Mc Donalds (I normally never eat McDonalds), just everywhere you name it and it felt sooooo good. Then I ate light the last three days.
Good luck to you. I had my surgery on 9/9/9 and I'm doing so well it's crazy. Remember to sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk. That's the key.

Thank you. You're so very welcome. I'm glad that I could inspire someone. That was my goal because I needed it too. I got the sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk from another woman on this thread. I wish I could remember her name because I would really like to thank her. It helped me TREMENDOUSLY.
So much so that if it wasn't for the vitamins, protein, etc. I wouldn't believe that I had the surgery. I feel great. The challenge now is to realize that I'm still healing because every part of me wants to resume my lifestyle. I hope all is well with you and your health and that your surgery goes well. I will remember you in my prayers. Take care.

Topic: RE: Syntrax Nectar Whey Protein Isolate, Powder, Lemon Tea
No way!! really? Ok I have to try that too. Does she warm it up? I understand your wife because I'm telling you...I had a hard time drinking the other stuff. This Tea is EASY. I actually look forward to it. Thanks for sharing. Please let me know if she warms it up. Thanks

Syntrax Nectar Cappuccino is amazing, my wife hates the shakes and this is the only one she will drink
Topic: RE: Syntrax Nectar Whey Protein Isolate, Powder, Lemon Tea
i got some but haven't tried it yet.... i'm not a big fan of sweetened tea, but i'm willing to give it a shot... i liked the cappuccino -- i thought the flavor was a bit too strong so i added more water.... it tasted like iced coffee - would be really good in the summer..
i also got a Syntha-6 brand -- chocolate mint.....it was to DIE for!! yummm-oh...
jeris
on countdown to next tuesday!!

I'm still pre-op but what you are doing, from what I have read, is a BIG no no!!!!!
You need to follow what your doctor's eating plan is for you. If they want you on liquids for 2 weeks, then you need to drink liquids. Maybe your not drinking slow enough?
I'm also thinking maybe your not getting enough protein in with your liquids. Maybe go out and buy an unflavored protein powder and put it in your crystal light or broth.
I dont know...for having a new stomach, I just think you shouldn't be eating chicken yet......definitely what the above poster say, blend something if you REALLY need to eat.........
keep in mind that you may be having head hunger too and that you really need to try and think about something else while you are hungry or go out and walk because that is how failure will start is if you start getting off track now
Good luck....I would suggest calling your doctor or nutrionist to let them know what you have done so far and what they suggest for you.

Thank you so much for posting all this great "real time" post-op information. I'm finding it so useful and enlightening, and your positive, upbeat attitude is very inspiring.
I haven't had my WLS yet (hoping for November), but I've had many other surgeries, the worst being open heart surgery. Getting up and walking after that was the hardest thing I ever did, but it was also the the most productive. Once I was able to walk, my recovery improved exponentially. Based on my experience, I have to say your advice to sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk is spot on. I think I'll adopt it as my mantra as I look forward to my own surgery.
Thanks again for this great inside look at the immediate post-op experience. I hope you will continue to keep us posted on your progress.
