I know and I know we are both soooo excited!. I just cant believe it. up till now i have been nervous and a lil scared but now i am getting butterflies in my tummy. I can't believe its 3 days away!

Be super happy!! This is what you have been waiting for!!
This procedure is very safe, and you are ready for it.

I am going to be banded too. My surgery date is 10/02/2009. I am mentally ready, and I cannot wait until that date where I will be born again with a chance to do what I have been waiting to do for a long time.

Hi All!
I am still in the hospital - the extra day wasn't uxpected as they waited until today to start the blood thinners and want to obseve me for a day on them before letting me go home.

I'm still on clear liquids, broth, vitamin water, gatorade, tea and water. IV and PCA pump are gone just oral pain meds now. Of the 6 incisions, only one is sore, its about 2" long and (per Dr M) very deep and should be sore.

The pain is not as bad as I thought it would be - I'm looking forward to it being gone altogether.

I will be home tomorrow - I'm sure there will be no complications.

I can't tell how this stomach is doing - I have no hunger, but I also don't know if I am drinking too much

Thank God - the hard part is over!

You can't take slim fast high protein afterwards because that's not the kind that your body needs. That's for dieting. Your body needs protein to sustain after surgery. You need a protein that doesn't have a lot of bulkiness too it (filers, vitamins that you can't absorb, etc). Whey protein is what you need. Trust me I tried to go that route too but the hospital caught me just in time.

Hi guys,

Im out of the hospital, things went well. Still some soreness and all but I have pain meds. LOL Still trying to sip, walk and get in my protein and fluids. I am status post VSG and hiatal hernia repair.

I cannot wait to see how everyone else is doing.
