Topic: I made it home!!!
Hi Guys,
So I made home today from an uneventful surgery. The surgereons finished in less time then they expected. The said it was a typical text book case (whatever that means.) I am at home recoverying with minimal pain. I do not have the desire to eat the only thing that I notice is that I have this blotted feeling but I put the heating pad on it and that too is going away. So far so good!!!

Sounds like we're all about in the same place..food wise and appetite wise, as well as our weight loss! Tonight I had some ricotta cheese with homemade spaghetti sauce on it. Pure bliss! I also nibbled some saltines at lunch, and it was so nice being able to crunch something. Tomorrow is my first postop visit, and this is one dr's appt I'm actually looking forward to...
Friday I can start some soft fish such as tilapia, soft cooked vegetables and soft fruits. Lets keep in touch and be each other's encouragement.

Topic: one week and one day post op
Well I am feeling great. I have been home from the hospital since last Thursday. I go in for my first post-op visit today. I am having issues getting all the fluids in I need to. Any ideas? I had my first BM today so I am relieved as I had been passing gas since last Thursday so I was just waiting. Anyways. I came out of the hospital huge 319lbs. This past week I have lost 16lbs without clothes on. I am pleased with that and i hope it continues. I can't wait to get under 300lbs. Onward!!!

My surgery is now 2 days away. I was suppose to have had it last Friday but i forgot to get the pill to prevent you from throwing up so he canceled my surgery now it is scheduled for this Friday. i have been drinking the Chike for about 3 weeks now and it is pretty good it tastes like carnation instant breakfast drink to me and you can mix flavors together.

HI Peggy
I'm actually a 9/9 so it's been 3 weeks today. I'm about the same place down 19 but I'm already doing scrambled eggs and chicken salad. I can't tolerate dairy (tried cottage cheese last night and some cream cheese instead of light mayo in the chicken salad, neither went well). Most days I get my water in, but the waiting an hour after having food, makes that a challenge.

Hi Lori, and welcome!
Congrats on your upcoming surgery. I just had mine 3 weeks ago today and I feel absolutely fine. The only thing i brought to the hospital were my own pj's and robe. I couldnt wait to get out of that hospital gown. Plus I knew I'd be strolling and strolling the halls to get things moving and avoid complications, and I wanted to feel more like "me" and less like a "patient". I also brought my book I was reading at the time, but the meds made my eyes too fuzzy to read.
As far as shakes once I got home, I stayed with Atkins EAS shakes. I've moved on to soft foods now, so no more shakes.
Best of luck, and let us know when you get back home and join us on the "losers bench"!

Hello everyone, just dropping a quick line. I'm new to the forum. Found it when I was trying to figure out what to bring to the hospital and how quickly I would be "taking care of my kids" after wards.
The big day is 2 days away... I'm so nervously excited. I was great to read through some of your encouraging posts. Anyone have any advise for the hospital or yummy shake recipes for when I come home?
Thanks, Lori
