Anyone on Sept 15, 2009? Anxious, nervous, freaking out??

Welcome - make sure to check back and let us all know how your surgery went. I think we are all on pins and needles by this point. I just started my list of stuff to pack - I'm taking an afghan to work on - not sure I will feel like it, but when I had my appendix out, I would have killed for a project to keep my hands busy. I'm also smuggling in my mini netbook - shhhh - don't tell the hospital. I think it's against the rules, but I'm also trying to get away with leaving my piercings in since I have to go back to the tattoo/piercing parlor to have them put back in. (Don't worry - I'm taking the pliars just in case ... LOL).

Congratulations ladies, we are almost there! Be proud of yourselves and have faith. This time next week, we will be feeling pretty good and looking forward to our first week weigh in. Maybe we should have a pool to guess how well we all do? Nah - we are all going to be BIG LOSERS!

Peace and love - safe surgery everyone. See you on the other side. Please check in when you can so we all know everyone is safe and sound. You are all in my prayers. God Bless.

Hi Diane,

Just checking in with you. I went to follow up with labs today and my PT was perfect. My INR was still about a point or too off but nothing for them to be concerned about. Therefore, the procedure will proceed as planned. GOODNESS, I am soo nervous, I have to check in to the hospital at 6 am so im guessing he will probably perform the procedure at around 8 or 9am.

Many blessings to all of you who are having your WLS surgery tommorrow. I just pray that all of us have safe, complication free uneventful surgeries, regardless of the surgery type.

I'm scheduled tomorrow also for an rny and am the 2nd surgery for the day.  I can't wait.!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I only had to do the liquid diet for today only. It's better than I thought also. A lot of what you say in your post sounds a lot like me. Except for the amount lost( I lost 40 lbs. since March), our stories are identical. My husband is very supportive of what I'm doing.  My family in a different state doesn't know that I'm doing this. They wouldn't know until Christmas.  It may sound cruel, but I don't want to deal with the remarks and the attitudes from some of my family.
Good Luck tomorrow.

Good news - my INR was 1.18 - well below the maximum of 1.5 so surgery will proceed as scheduled. YAY! I can't tell you how calm and peaceful I am feeling right now. I leave for the hospital at 11 am - I need to run to the bank and the post office first thing in the morning. I am allowed a protien shake (to be finished by 7:30 am) and clear liquids until 10:30 am. Then the real wait starts - surgery is "scheduled for 1:15 pm" - I think that's about 2:30 doctor/hospital time LOL. I will be spending the first night in the ICU since I use O2 at night - standard procedure - but should be in a regular room Wednesday morning and attempting sips of clear liquids. Thank you God for getting me here - without your strength I don't think I could have gone through the first "^&*(&%&(*&#(^(@)&)%((*&" surgeon and found my wonderful surgeon, or withstood the 18 month wait, the last minute cancellation in March or taken off 79 pounds (please let that be 80 in the morning!!!). Of course  my support group has been next in line - God Bless each and every one of them - especially Annette, you are an angel and an inspiritation - down 207 pounds and a size 4 at 61 yro. You've pulled me through some really rough times - I will 'pay it forward' for someone down the road.

Ok - to all of you having surgery Sept 15, and in the next couple days, God Bless, be safe, have an uneventful surgery and recovery. Meet you on the other side - every one PLEASE stop in and let us know how you are doing. Even just a quick note to say you are safe and sound until you are up to posting. I'm praying for all of us. Its no coincidence that the new season of the Biggest Loser starts tomorrow - and sure, diet and exersize is great, but having lost 140 pounds, and gained it back plus 30 more pounds, I'm giving RNY my hope and faith for a new life. I'm not looking to wear a bikini - just to shop in regular stores, not have my thighs rub together and be able to walk up stairs without getting winded. Oh, and I wouldn't mind finding a nice guy to love and be loved.

Thank you - each and everyone of you, for your thoughts, support, prayers, stories, encouragement and sharing your journey with me. Lets do this!

Hugs to all - Diane

Hello to all the new girls, my brain is a fog and I took a sleeping pill tonight that is not working. I am starving and want to puke with this liquid diet. It is tough when you are not in you home. I am staying with friends with good intentions , two young children and there alot of food circling. So I am still up past midnight and stomach growling.   I feel so weak and restless and the protein isn't going down.  Anyway, tommorrow will change some things and hopeful the process while continue.  We count this up a bad day........you are all in my prayers.  Speak to all soon :)

Hi All!
I am still in the hospital - the extra day wasn't uxpected as they waited until today to start the blood thinners and want to obseve me for a day on them before letting me go home.

I'm still on clear liquids, broth, vitamin water, gatorade, tea and water. IV and PCA pump are gone just oral pain meds now. Of the 6 incisions, only one is sore, its about 2" long and (per Dr M) very deep and should be sore.

The pain is not as bad as I thought it would be - I'm looking forward to it being gone altogether.

I will be home tomorrow  - I'm sure there will be no complications.

I can't tell how this stomach is doing - I have no hunger, but I also don't know if I am drinking too much

Thank God - the hard part is over!
Will check in soon,
Love, Diane
