Sheree I can't say it gets easier at all. I just finished my 14 day and on my way to surgery in about an hour. By then end I just got so sick of the shakes and even though i felt empty, I hardly even made my required minimums. I was kicking and screaming the whole way but when i look back, I can't believe I already did it. I blogged everyday about what I had and how I was feeling. My local message board thought the two weeks was nuts but here I go onto another 2 weeks after surgery. I pray I can get by with the least about of shakes as possible.
You can do it and you'll look back and think how did i go 14 days without food and be ravenous. Well my almost 20lbs shows it!
Good luck
Nikki

Have you guys tried doctoring up your shakes to make them more palatable? For example, I made on this morning with Designer Whey chocolate, skim milk, a tbsp of peanut butter, splenda, and ice. I have a really hard time with the protein smell, but that one was actually quite tasty and went down easy. I've also added a packet of instant coffee to chocolate and vanilla shakes and made faux frappucinos out of them. There are tons of recipes for things you can do to make shakes more palatable. Good luck to you ladies, you'll be on the loser's bench in no time and it does get easier.
Well unfortunately I don't have the option of choosing my protien shakes. I have to drink the bariatric advantage shakes and they are not soo good. one of hte ones i bought was coffee flavored and its awful!. I have tried to tweek it...no success. So...I just do my best to get them down. I suppose after my surgery I will have a choice or at least I hope so :)
Thankfully I didn't have to diet for two weeks. So I was able to pig out for the last time. Hang in there. Remember this quote, "If there is no struggle, there is no progress" FD. Just keep saying that to yourself throughout the entire process. Also, remember to WALK WALK WALK. You can walk the day of surgery too. Everytime you get your pain medication, WALK. It helps to feel better.
