A kick in the gut.....

My surgery got cancelled due to miscommunication between docs office and insurance company. Not sure what to do unless I come up with self pay......

Oh no, Im so sorry....what kind of miscommunication? Can you fix it? Can you call the insurance company or something and request a second review? Where was the mistake made???

Its about how much my "deductable" was and whether or not I met it and how much I would need "upfront". So its a money thing which I don't have atm and won't get for about another 3 months.

If it is a matter of the deductible you will owe the clinic or doctor try to work out a payment plan with them now.  They don't like to cancel a scheduled surgery because they like to stay billable.  I'd give them a call and if the billing coordinator says she can't help then ask for the office manager or program coordinator and as a last resort go directly to the surgeon.  You have nothing to lose at this point than your time.  Good luck.

Already did all of that.....The surgeon wants X amount to do the surgery and Y amount paid each month.....not something I can do at the moment. But mind you they took payments for me to get to this point. And they will take payments until the X is reached....

unfortunately that is one that you can not get around....if it makes you feel any better I was scheduled to have mine in Jan 09 but I broke my leg and you can not have major surgery after another for 6 months (so they say) so that would put me into july I was scheduled in July....I got real sick, they cancelled me...I had it finally on Sept 1st. Now I know right now your feeling all kinds of feelings, but know that you were not told NO you are just being told not now....3 months will go by quicker than you realize and its so so worth the wait....trust me.....
