This Goes Out To All My Sept 2, 2009 and All of September Surgery Buddies

Tomorrow is our day and no one and nothing can stop us now.

Are you all ready?

Have you done all your post op shopping for food, meds, vitamin supplements, confirmed your kids or dog sitters, cleaned the house, done laundry, make everything you will need accessible to you when you get home, got your living will or you medical power of attorney completed (not trying to scare you), called your family and friends to let them know what time your surgery is and where you will be, and etc?

If you have not done so, there is no time like the present as we still have the whole day ahead of us.

I have 21 hours to go til my surgery at 9:15 am.

I'm not nervous at all even though by tomorrow this time I will be on the butt booty naked on the operating table being repaired and revised.

LMAO.

I am as calm as can be.

 I will clean up my apt today, bleach my teeth (at home), straighten my hair, and shave my legs and my unmentionables so I do not look a hot mess passed out naked on the operating table.

I am lucky as I have therapy today at 3 pm so I have someone outside of my family to talk to about my feelings regarding my surgery tomorrow.

I pay her so she is not allowed to disagree with my decisions.

J/K

She can disagree, but I would  fire her.

LMAO.

I have no doubt that tomorrow I will be just fine and so will all of you.

I have all the faith in the world in my surgeon and the hospital staff at Baylor University Medical Center.

I am truly blessed to have been able to go on this journey with you all.

It may not be as easy as you think, but it also may not be as difficult as you think.

Go into this with an open mind, heart, soul, and most of all open eyes.

When you are in pain and feel like you can’t go on and you wish you would not have done the surgery or when you a feel sorry for yourself because you can’t do for yourself and you have to depend on others for awhile remember to keep your eyes on the prize.

I will be sure to update you all when I get home so please be sure to do the same.

I hope that we all have an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.

I have you all in my prayers.

 Have an absolutely fabulous day! Please be kind to one another.

One of my ab fab faves.

Start Where You Stand
By Berton Braley

Start where you stand and never mind the past,
The past won't help you in beginning new,
If you have left it all behind at last
Why, that's enough, you're done with it, you're through;
This is another chapter in the book,
This is another race that you have planned,
Don't give the vanished days a backward look,
Start where you stand.

The world won't care about your old defeats
If you can start anew and win success;
The future is your time, and time is fleet
And there is much of work and strain and stress;
Forget the buried woes and dead despairs,
Here is a brand-new trial right at hand,
The future is for him who does and dares,
Start where you stand.

Old failures will not halt, old triumphs aid,
To-day's the thing, to-morrow soon will be;
Get in the fight and face it unafraid,
And leave the past to ancient history,
What has been, has been; yesterday is dead
And by it you are neither blessed nor banned;
Take courage, man, be brave and drive ahead,
Start where you stand.
