can't believe it 24 days left come on sept 21st!

I know the people in my office are sick to death hearing me talk about this surgery but I don't think they understand....this is more exciting than purchasing a car or going on a tropical vacation. I am getting my life back... YES

YAY!!! Thats the day of my surgery as well.... I totally know what you are feeling!!!!

 well by getting my ducks in a row, contemplating surgery for 2+ years, 6 months of pcp follow ups for ins, plus all the other hoopla the ins makes you do to get approval... then... yeah it took a while. Mentally - i'm ready for surgery... ready to go tomorrow. Emotionally... I'm a wreck.. nervous, anxious, terrified, thrilled, estactic, paranoid... you name the emotion... I'm it!!!. How about you?? You ready??

i'm from pittsburgh.... trying to figure out how to load a damn picture to my profile, but all pics are too big.. (kinda like me!!) so i just added some to my account..  Oh well ... baby steps... it's all about baby steps!

Well about hte same. I started in January of 2009. because of my pulmonary sarcoid and asthma and history of chest pains, that we found was nothing but esophogeal spasms, I had to go through a series of tests. My birthdate was 08-05-09. The dr's off called me on the 4th and adv me that i was approved. On the 6th, i was cleared of everything and mad a date. So...Happy birthday to me!. I am scared, sort of, but the excitement far out weighs that. I have absolutely NO reservations about the surgery though.

I know what you mean!  I fortunately have great support at work, my co-worker and I talk about it all the time, she supports me as much as my wife does.  Hang in there and good luck.  I go 9/14 for my surgery!  It will be like having another birthday!!!

it will be like having a new birthdate. i am really excited for you so keep me informed and i do wish you all the best. i go on the 8th for my pre-op. not really looking forward to all the shakes for the following 2 wekks but i can do it. hope to hear from ya soon

Thankfully I do not have many health issues right now.. well if you dont count the painful low back, achy knees, shortness of breath, However diabetes and heart disease run in my family. I was a little nervous waiting for the approval but it came and we are ready to go. everyday i get more and more excited. I'm with you.. i have NO reservations. Ready to start that new Healthy chapter of my life!!
