Topic: I am home from RNY
I am now home from surgery got home Wednesday Evening! Surgery went very smoothly. No complications at all. I am very very sore and in quite a bit of pain. Everytime I get up or down it hurts terribly. Kinda like a pinching feeling. Now that I am home it is really hard to get in protein. I am really not hurgery at all. But everytime I get up I sip, sip, sip. But I am worried about not getting in all the protein in this liquid stage. All I feel like doing is sleeping. Well kinda weird also but It seems I sleep better during the day than at night. At night I lay there in pain and dread getting up to get medicine. Well anyhow I hope all this gets better! At least there are no complications and all is going as it should.

Great news!! Hope you got your pre-op done. I'm home and recovering now. My pain is about a 3 and I am having my first protein drink post-op. So far so good. Make the nurses walk with you, if no one is staying full-time with you. They were bad about that.

Topic: I'm home!!
I had my RNY on Wednesday and got home yesterday (Friday). I'm in some pain, but am mostly tired. I had a whole lot of regret the first day after surgery, but am sure the regret will fade when I am feeling better. My doctor said my surgery went perfectly, so I guess I can't ask for more.

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey. I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.
My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once. I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.

I just got home yesterday afternoon. Not too much pain. If I take the Percocet (which I have never had a problem with before) I get nauseated. So, I'm just going to stick with Tylenol!
I'm definitely having some buyer's remorse just in that I'm wondering how I'll do with the band. It just feels kind of weird...

Topic: A Challenge
My surgery is 9/29, which is next Monday. The weekend before I need to be on a clear liquid diet. Well that weekend, my husband and I are going to PA for 2 big church meetings. We're talking, luncheons, receptions the whole nine yards 
So wish me luck and prayers as I pack my clear liquids in my suitcase.
It's so inspiring to read everybody's stories and experiences and see how everybody is doing.

I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that I am in Maine in the United States and will be having my surgery on the same day as you. I know it will be tough at first, but it's tougher to keep living life being limited on what we can do.

How awesome we share a surgery date!!! Congrats on your date too!! My dr. only requires a liquid diet after 10am day before surgery!!! I'm enjoying my weekend, going to cook good thinks like a beef veggie soup, i can enjoy the broth next week, and DH an Son can enjoy the soup itself!!!
