I hated the pre-op liquid diet.  It was the worst part for me.  I did stay on it exactly as instructed because I wanted my liver to be nice and small so that they could see easily around it.  My doctor said my surgery went perfectly, so I guess it worked.  I had RNY 4 days ago and feel much better today.

I have to admit that I wasn't perfect on my pre-op diet.....I think it had to do with that "last supper" thing.  I by no means am saying this is ok as my surgery is on Tuesday, so hopefully it won't have hurt me any.  I have been perfect on the liquid only diet, just because I know for this I have to be.  Hang in there and try to make the best choices!!!

Hi Laura....It's good to see you back! I'm so surprised that you got out of the hospital so quickly. I'm having RNY on Wednesday and was told to expect to be there at least 4 days. I've read where so many people have "regrets" and feelings of "what have I done to myself" after surgery and I'm realizing that this is normal. I will expect this and hopefully it will pass soon. I look forward to joining you on the losers bench...Take care of yourself!
