I also had my surgery on 9/22 and i feel ok for the most, but this darn drainage tube is the only thing that has me tied down.  My energy is up, I feel no real pain.
I really hope you feel better soon.

I am at my wits end 2 employers and they both have the surgery excluded.  Did you have a hard time getting Medicaid?  I am new to the state and wanted to know how that works.  Can you assist?

Topic: RE: Looking for others that had sx around 9/12

I am so glad I came here,  tomorrow will be one week since my RNY.  I felt great the first 2 days, but now feel the same as you were (I hope not still) feeling.  I have little to no appetite, nausea present most of the time. I am struggling to get in the required 62 ozs. of fluid.  I am concentrating on getting down the New Whey 42gms liquid protein.  I mix the 3.5 ozs in 1oz of water and sip, sip, sip.

I have no desire to eat cream soups, or farina even though I can.  Did try some low fat yogurt today, I used to love it before the surgery, but, today I could barely get it down.

Hope you are feeling better.

Hi, Shannon - I had my surgery 9/22 and I can assure you, you will feel a little better each day.  Be sure to follow your doc's orders, move around, and get your protein in.  It's been a week, I'm still a little sore. Hang in there!

Topic: RE: Anyone else tired of this liquid diet yet? I am!
I had surgery 9/17 and can have pureed foods on Saturday.  I've been drinking Slim Fast Low Carb drinks for my liquid phase.  My doctor likes us to have bariatric advantage shakes, but I think they're nasty.  Slim Fast is much better.  I'm excited to have applesauce and mashed potatoes on my pureed diet!!  : )

I had my post op appointment today and I have lost 29 pounds since my pre-op appointment, September 2nd (my RNY was September 17th)!!  Sot that makes 29 pounds lost in 27 days!!  I am so excited and just wanted to share!!

I am feeling great and going back to work tomorrow, 13 days after surgery.

Topic: New to Charlotte
Hey Everyone I am new to Charlotte and in the process of going through the 1st of many visits to SE Bariatrics.  I was wondering if anyone has encountered an exclusion on there employers plan and has succeeded in appealing it.  My employer (large employer) has stated that I am more than welcome to fight it.  Just seems that I thought if I went from a small employer to a large one my chances would be better.  Never thought I would be in the same boat.  Any words of encourangement?  Also has anyone succeded in applying for Medicaid or Medicaire to cover it?
